About this listen

Sophie Dempsey wants to help her sister film a video and then get out of Temptation, Ohio. Mayor Phin Tucker wants to play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. But when Sophie and Phin meet, they both get more than they want. Gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, vehicular abuse of a corpse, and slightly perverse but excellent sex: all hell breaks loose in Temptation as Sophie and Phin fall deeper and deeper in trouble, and in love.©2006 Jennifer Crusie (P)2006 Brilliance Audio, Inc. Why not give in to temptation?

Easily a four or five star listen. (I didn't give it 5 because it's not great literature - but I feel a bit mean as it is great fun)
It's funny (and witty), well written, with a good range of characters and some interesting plot twists. I really enjoyed the narration and will be buying more from this author and narrator. Avoid if you really don't like sex or swearing - there are reasonable amounts of both.

Great Audiobook

Where does Welcome to Temptation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favourite audiobooks, and I've listened to it numerous times. It has humour and romance. I just loved Phin and Sophie.

What other book might you compare Welcome to Temptation to, and why?

This is similar to Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

What does Aasne Vigesaa bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She is a great narrator for this book. Her delivery is just right both in terms of speed and style. Too often a brilliant book has been spoiled by a narrator, but she really enhances this book.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It wasn't laugh out loud funny, but really humorous and put a BIG smile on my face.

Daft Fun

This was a good, daft, laugh. Two sisters arrive in Temptation to shoot a promotional video for their brother's ex girlfriend. On arrival everything goes wrong, and hook ups and murders ensue!

Fab

I love it. Great book. Well read. Funny (I did laugh out loud!), sweet & fast paced. A great hero who is believable (no multiple organisms here thank goodness). Worth every penny!

Absolutely brilliant!

I love Jennifer Crusie and this one is a gem. It's witty, charming and beautiful. The characters are 3 dimensional and so very human. This cracking book is further enhanced by a fab narrator who reads the books with energy and fun. Highly recommended.

Can't rate story, narrator is terrible

I didn't make it past four minutes. The narrator read too fast and made no distinction between the story and characters' libes. Also the only two characters that have been introduced so far sound exactly the same so I never knew who was speaking and when.
I can't rate the story bc I can't listen further. I'd recommend getting the book if you really want to read it.
