About this listen
An alliance forged through marriage.
The cost?
One Man’s dream.
Tristan dreams of the day he’ll succeed his father as the next Warlord of Markaytia.
Elves—creatures famous for their darker passions and tantalizing culture—approach the Markaytian king with an offer he can’t refuse: an alliance with the Elves for the one Tristan Kanes. Tristan is forced to give up his dream. He’s not thrilled, but Tristan is a man of duty above all else.
What choice does he have?
He cannot refuse the king or Markaytia. He begrudgingly comes to terms with the arranged marriage. Is he a tad sour about it? Yes, but he’ll get over it.
Probably.
Maybe it won’t be so bad.
Elves have cool weapons, maybe he’ll get one? Corrik bans him from cool weapons.
Corrik’s seen Tristan’s gruesome death on the point of a sword in a prophetic vision.
He bans Tristan from picking up a sword ever again.
Tristan wants to accept the marriage with grace to make his people proud, but he resents Corrik for his remorseless attitude over his life’s work.
Facing the Ice Prince and himself.
Tristan’s conflict follows him on the journey to the mysterious Elven land of Mortouge.
He hates Corrik for taking him from the life he loved, boy does he, but his new Elven husband is an enigma and he’s captivated.
He sets Tristan’s blood on fire and freezes it at the same time.
Corrik unravels Tristan’s true nature and despite his best efforts, Tristan falls for his ice prince. But Corrik won’t bend.
Corrik wants to be obeyed.
He’s demanding and possessive.
He’s overbearingly protective. Can these two find a suitable compromise?
Or will Tristan’s resentment and Corrik’s arrogance ruin forever their chance at love?
Tristan by Mock (S. Legend) is a gay romance fantasy featuring enemies-to-lovers vibes, an age gap, arranged marriage, first times, and a happy ending (um, eventually). This is the first action-adventure romance in the Tristan trilogy.

Wonderful high fantasy
Great new to me author.
I was instantly pulled into this magical world.
I'm absolutely enjoying getting to know Tristan and Corrick.
There's hilarious banter between them along with plenty of angst as they butt heads coming from completely different worlds.
I love the take on BDSM and there's plenty of action, danger and suspense.
I can't wait to continue the story.
Curtis Michael did an amazing job capturing the confusion, unease, hurt and anger between these characters.

Complicated lives
I really enjoyed this fantasy/romance with its arranged marriage and D/s. What caught and held my attention were the characters of Tristan and Corrik. Tristan, who had envisioned how his life would go, suddenly traded off as property for a political alliance and Corrik, suddenly having to deal with a life partner who isn't at all what he expected and who he has horrifying visions about. These two have to re-imagine their entire lives and how to fit the pieces together as a couple without losing themselves in the process. Curtis Michael is a new audio performer for me and I found his work here very well done. He captured the surprise and confusion of the characters initially at the way their lives had changed and all the complicated emotions as they try to learn how to be together in their new arrangement.

A fantastic new series by S Legend. A journey with new characters that should be followed and a world to explore. Curtis Michael did a super job bringing the to life.

Entertaining
The narrator captures Tristan's spirit and slightly bratty nature well and I liked the teasing voice of Declan.
Second time around has highlighted Corrick's nature and I like him less now. Compared to Bayoen later, Corrick is almost abusive. He's not a good Dom at all.
The author message at the start highlights that this series doesn't follow safe and sane practices but I'd have liked to see some of it.
The story is just as addictive than the first time with the audio working well to draw in the listener.
