I absolutely loved this book, especially in audiobook! The voice actors are both amazing, though admittedly I read the book first and then listened to the audio and it took me a bit to wrap my head around Briar's voice.

The story has just the right amount of world building and spice. If you like stories that centre around the intricacies of court life and the politics involved then you'll love this. There's forbidden love, enemies to lovers and some seriously endearing side characters! All with more serious themes of discrimination and persecution underpinning it. And of course all the juicy details when it comes to the spicy scenes!

Spectacular, absolutely amazing. Both the storyline and the characters are just so good I couldn't get enough, every single chapter just got better and better. The games and plotting, the insults were entertaining. I can't find anything I didn't enjoy about this book, it captivated me completely. Poet is so well written, it's a shame I can't make him real. I'd never be bored, honestly I love his cheeky personality. The author did such a remarkable job of bringing this story to life, every description is fleshed out. You can picture the scene in your mind, it's what I love about this book. My favourite thing is the dual point of view, both Poet and Briar tell their version of the story. I'm looking forward to jumping into the next book.
