About this listen
For years Kingsley Edge warned Eleanor that the day would come when she, the mistress of a well-respected Catholic priest, would have to run. She always imagined that if that day came, she'd be running with Søren. Instead, she's running from him. Fearing that Søren and Kingsley will use their power and influence to bring her back, Eleanor takes refuge in the one place the men in her life cannot enter. Behind the cloistered gates of the convent where her mother has taken orders, Eleanor hides from the man she loves and hates in equal measure.
With Eleanor gone, the lights have gone out in Kingsley's kingdom. When he learns the reason she left, he, too, turns his back on Søren and runs.
On a beach in Haiti, Kingsley meets Juliette, the one woman who can save him from his sorrows. But only if he can save her first.
Contains mature themes.

Exceptional Storytelling and a Breathtaking Story
Would you listen to The Virgin again? Why?
Yes! This is an incredible series with a wonderful performer who really does bring the characters to life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Virgin?
Nora's reaction to seeing Soren in the kilt had me crying with laughter, especially when Soren tries to use a safeword to protect himself from her.
Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Hart – was your favourite?
Kingsley, her French depiction of him is perfect.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Gosh, the reason why Nora fled was heartwrenching, especially when you understand Soren's part in it.
Any additional comments?
I absolutely loved this whole book and the performance on Audible also made it even more enjoyable. When a book starts by leaving a question on your lips and by the end of the book you're screaming for it to be answered you know it's a good story. This instalment gives readers an insight into how and when Kingsley met with Juliet and Nora's time back with her mother at the convent. Both of which meant time away from Soren.

This is why some books should be read...
As always, a very masterful and intriguing story that interweaves so many facets, characters and plotlines. The only negative is the narrator. With so many characters who are from different places, the narrator struggles to make them convincing. It made me laugh but did detract a little from the engaging story - I switched to reading it instead.
