Summary

The moment she starts her doctorate in Oxford, Sarah is beset with mysteries. An old portrait in her rented house bears an uncanny resemblance to her. A new lover insists he's a ghost. Her attractive, sinister supervisor obstructs her research at every turn. An ordinary hill on the meadow fills her with fear, and not just her, but also the man with whom she falls in love. And every time she has sex, she hallucinates strange places and other times.

With her own life and soul at risk, Sarah uses sex magic and a sequence of visions to travel between different times, worlds and places. On an epic journey, she battles an ancient evil to solve a mystery dating back centuries. A mystery that holds the truth of her origins and purpose.

Mills & Boon meets Henry Miller meets Harry Potter

There is no doubt that this novel is highly erotic, in fact some listeners might find it a bit too raunchy in parts. Not a bad story, but far too long winded with a number passages on witchcraft and spells. The book starts ery promisingly but once it gets into the second third it does get bogged down in witchcraft, can't say I understood much of it with the heroine having visions of her former life as a witch and mooning around bemoaning the loss of her lover. Having said this if you have an interest in the occult and want an erotically charged love story this could be for you. Would have given it 4 stars had it been 2 hours shorter, as it was it took me over 3 months to listen to it.

Esoteric Erotica..

Sarah manages to secure a delightful rented house at a ridiculous price, so she will be able to continue with her doctorate at Oxford. She's a go with the flow girl and does not question any of the startling developments that continue unabated through-out, the esoteric dreams she stumbles into every-time she has fantastic sex helps her along, (I don't think would look a gift horse in the mouth either!) .
It has a surreal feel, jumping to and fro constantly but is handled well. Olivia Knight has written an erotic sumptuous delight and there are scenes aplenty written in a prosaic flowery language that is very very vivid and never boring.

The actual plot could of been better, but the mythology and erotic scenes are strong, I fell in love with Joe and wish he had a bigger part to play, plus I would of like more antagonist input, there were some marvellous dark macabre characters I just wanted the author to explore further.
The book lost me about three quarters the way through, I just lost interest, just not enough going on for me personally, still, I do not regret buying the book it is definitely not your run of the mill erotica novel, not a rude word in sight but our author gets her message across very eloquently all the same.
