About this listen

A soldier without a home.

A librarian with a deadly secret.

A pair of ruthless monster hunters.

Ever since returning from Vietnam, Darren has been haunted by the ghosts of his past. A chance encounter with a small-town sheriff lands him a handyman job at the local library, as well as hope that his wandering days may be over. Ana is the town librarian. She, too, is running from the past. Content to be left alone, she becomes alarmed when Darren sets off her urge to reproduce, a desire that always comes with fatal consequences.

An already difficult situation is made worse when a pair of hunters from a mysterious organization arrive in town with one goal; making sure Ana remains the last of her kind.

Note: This work of fiction contains strong language and spicy sex scenes with a mythological being. Arachnophobics should skip this one.

Arachnophilia for the win!

Totally exceeded my expectations.
The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life.
The world building was "believable" for a fantastical tale in a normal world setting and the story a familiar trope well done.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tale, looking forward to listening to the next chapter and sorry to come to the end.

Not what I was expecting

I’m impressed! This was not what I expected knowing the author. The story was well written and very believable with fleshed out characters. It has emotions and wasn’t sappy. It was about topics from the real world not fantasy. The characters became real. This was due to the fantastic narration by two great narrators.

An enjoyable side quest

A thoroughly enjoyable little bit of background of the parents romance of the Arachne sisters.
