Sweet, sensual and hot as fire!!

I loved this book! The commander can take me over his knee any time! This was one steamy listen. I enjoyed both the character development and plotline developed in this story. It was simple but well done. The narrator is one I'm fast becoming a fan of. This is the 3rd book that I've listened to that he's narrated. I think it's also the best so far! I can't wait to listen to more of his work!!

Wonderfully entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to The Commander’s Mate the first book in Morganna William’s Ramelian Saga. Jack Calihan did a great job of bringing the characters alive and I loved his strong firm voice when Grayson had to chastise his mate Izzy. The fact that the author made Izzy 40 and plump went against typical heroine stereotypes and was a welcomed surprise. As was Grayson absolute delight in her. The blurb does a great job of laying out the basic plot so I don’t need to go into the specifics of the story. The epilogue was lovely and was a great segue into the next book The Commander’s Daughter.
I was fortunate to receive this audio via Audiobook Obsession.

Loved It!

While she struggles to change a tire on a lonely road late at night, Izzy’s quiet, uneventful life changes suddenly and drastically when Grayson - a huge, handsome male from the planet Ramel - comes to her rescue. Earth has recently entered into a treaty which gives each Ramelian male the right to select a human woman as his mate, and to Izzy’s shock, Grayson chooses her.

Grayson tries to reason with his chosen mate, pointing out that she’ll be the wife of the high commander of the Ramelian fleet, but when discussion proves useless, he pulls her over his knee, bares her bottom, and gives her the first spanking of her life. He will be a kind, fair, and loving husband, but he will be obeyed.

Despite her protests, once aboard Grayson’s ship, Izzy receives a thorough, intimate, and deeply embarrassing medical examination as her new husband watches. It is only when Grayson takes her to his bed that Izzy begins to look forward to her future. He proves himself an attentive and skilled lover, and she is almost instantly overcome with desire for him.

But even as Izzy finds herself falling in love with Grayson, she wonders if she can ever adjust to life as the commander’s mate. She craves his touch, but can a man who dominates her body so utterly also lay claim to her heart?

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator did a great job with this book. I loved the characters and everything about this book. This book is a book I can listen to over and over again.

Dominant Alpha

This story has lots of yummy steamy scenes. The guy is very dominant, he says it's protective. I like an alpha man but I don't like a woman being treated like a child (ex. makes her put her nose in the corner). The naughty spankings are one thing, but some "punishments" were just not my thing. I did like the plot and their meet cute. The narrator did a great job performing the story.

Hot Alien Romance

A steamy fast-paced, sci-fi romance, that will have you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed Morganna Williams's writing style. Both plot and character development were great. Jack Calihan is an excellent narrator. I loved his voice and can't wait to hear the rest of the series.
This was an entertaining audiobook and I highly recommend The Commander's Mate to anyone who is a fan of sci-fi romance.

The Commanders Mate is a Sc-fi fantasy romance. Some steamy naughty scenes, good with that, I’m all in Kinky, dark, etc, but treating a woman like a child in punishment not so much. It’s my opinion alone, sorry Greyson you got knocked down on my list of hot alpha males.

Little story, all steam

This was a dom/sub story, with Grayson, an alien being, mating with Izzy, a human. There was very little in terms of the Ramelian story itself- it was all about the fact that the aliens are doms and the women are subs. I’m not a fan of making the female SO weak- she tries to go against Grayson but gives up pretty quickly and the scenes were a bit headache inspiring due to her weakness (and her exhausting acceptance of this weakness). I'm a bit surprised this was written by a woman. I have seen other authors take a patriarchial society and the women show that power to overcome this type of behavior- I wish there was some of this strength here. As long as you realize that this is the dynamic between the male and female characters, it was a short, steamy read. Suspend disbelief!

Jack Calihan was actually pretty good as a narrator- good range of voices and good cadence.
