About this listen
For many of the women who visit The Club, no-strings excitement is exactly what they are looking for and what they get. For others, however, with emotions running high, one night of sex changes their lives in ways they couldn't have imagined.
For Lou, her weekly visits enable her to set aside her shyness and loneliness and feel intimacy, however briefly. Kath, who cares for her mother at home, finds The Club a welcome escape from her everyday toil; while Max needs distraction from her troubled relationship, even as she tries to tell herself she isn't really cheating.
Tania and Jacky find an outlet for a tricky block in their sex life. Cassie and Nina, two bar staff at The Club, find themselves staying on after hours. And, Stephanie, struggling with her sexuality, finds her life changing in so many ways once she plucks up courage to enter.
The lives of these women intersect, merge, and mingle, and watching over them all is Mandy—the owner, whose own ghosts play a pivotal role in the existence of The Club.
Contains mature themes.

H. O. T. T. Hot. Don’t miss out
The Club is one of my favourite books, I’ve re-read it a few times. Now I get to re-listen to it too. The narrator did a great job and bringing A. L. Brooks’ story to life. I loved how she took on all the different characters and how the narrator used subtle differences in the Manchester accent for different characters, it can’t be easy to narrate a story that has so many different characters in it.
I loved it. It’s hot, sexy and full of feelings. Perfect!

superb romance
yes romance , especially between lou and Stephanie, my heart was willing them on, and the conclusion in lous' apartment had me in tears, the writing expertly covers the shy, the unsure, the need, menopause, young attraction, and more.
every city needs this club, a franchise instead of fast food restaurants, the idea of the setup if I had the money,
a l Brooks thoughtfully deals with Mandys' grief, and the prologue/epilogue connection is genius.
I did find narration in parts needed slightly more inflection, but made up in lou/Stephanie scenes beautifully.
definitely read again and again and,,,,,,,,,
