About this listen

When tall, pretty Kelly interviews at Washington D.C.’s premier LGBT-centric lobbying firm, she claims she has a girlfriend. Nothing could be further from the truth; she’s never even kissed a girl. Kelly’s hired. However, a suspicious co-worker keeps inquiring about her girlfriend. To keep her lies straight, Kelly bases her fictional partner on Anna, an aggressive, gorgeous lesbian friend of a friend. But when the firm’s annual Christmas party looms, Kelly’s forced to produce her mysterious girlfriend. The real Anna agrees to be Kelly’s "beard" - her fake date. But at the party, alcohol flows... and Anna’s all over Kelly. Kelly pretends to her office mates that her "girlfriend’s" advances are perfectly normal - even as she feels her resistance to the beautiful woman melting away.

The Beard is a comedy with sexy scenes and some explicit sections.

The Office Party

If you could sum up The Beard in three words, what would they be?

Good light-hearted fun

What did you like best about this story?

A fastpaced, entertaining slant on coming out

What about Tillie Hooper’s performance did you like?

I like her portrayal of the mean-spirited office witch and Anna's take no prisoners character

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Chai will never seem the same again

Any additional comments?

It was a great light-hearted, and fun "read". Ideal for a short window, when you don't have time to listen to War and Peace and just want to be entertained

Train wreck of hilarity

I’ll be honest I bought it because of the title. I was curious before long I was basically listening with burning cheeks. This story for me induced that state you often find in a movie comedy where you know the characters are going to get caught in embarrassing situations but you can’t stop watching and laughing. I loved ever cringe inducing word.

short but good story - is it worth one credit?

I liked the story its well written and thought and and intense, erotic. But its only 2 hours I had not noticed it was a short when I purchased it. On that basis I would have used the credit for a longer audio book,. but its a good story and well crafted. so rating for its quality rather then value for many.

A good little story to pass a couple of hours

Maybe not suitable for work. However, this story has a different take in how a straight woman can end up in a relationship with a lesbian. Funny moments, and this story was long enough to give you the tale, but not overly long that it gets too drawn out.

Only thing that might have made the ending slightly better was I had hoped to see how long the relationship would last. It would have coped with an added epilogue without any problems.

Impressed with the narrator, better than a lot of the narrators who have done some of the lesbian novels in the audible catalog.

Overall, if you want an easy going story, and don't mind the NSFW parts, then this will past a couple of hours with ease.
