Voice and story mismatch

I struggled with listening to the kind of voice you hear on one of those self-help or bible belt type cd's but instead of fire and brimstone, it was cock and cum. The story wasn't that great either. Neither character was very likeable, for me anyway. I get that it was a short story but the title was more exciting than the book. The best short stories leave you wishing they were longer, I didn't feel that way about this at all.
