About this listen
Two thousand years ago, Rhys was the fierce Celtic warrior branded by the Romans as the Bringer of Death. Mortally wounded in battle, he was captured by the Fair Ones, cunning and powerful masters of the Welsh faery realm. They spared his life...but for a price.
As a child, Morgan Edwards marveled at the faery tales spun by her beloved grandmother, stories of the magical beings hidden in the heart of ancient Wales. But now Morgan is all grown up, a veterinarian who believes only in what science can prove - until the night a massive black dog saves her from a vicious attack. Suddenly a stranger stands before her, the man of her dreams made flesh and blood, not by science, but by a magic that could bring them their hearts’ desires...or cost them everything they have.

really pity about the accents when doing the performance.
alright story and nice pace of story. worth a listen if on kindle unlimited. wouldn't buy at full price. the annoying accent ruins certain parts of the story. The accent is Irish even though the book's main premise is based on a Welsh accent.

Welsh or Scottish or Irish?
storyline was OK, although a bit slow. at times the author and narrator were clearly getting mixed up with Welsh, Scottish and Irish histories and accents

Narration argh!
As a Welsh girl I found the narration very annoying as the accents are Irish! Overall story isn’t bad, did find myself tuning out at times but not a bad listen to pass the time.

More research needed!
What didn’t you like about Justine Eyre’s performance?
The book is about welsh folklore and has very strong ties to wales - a lot of Welsh words which I appreciate are hard to pronounce but there whole dialogue is done in a very bad Irish accent! Not impressed

Only buy this if it is on sale.
The story was ok, nothing spectacular though. More then anything though it irked me that the Welsh accents sounded distinctly Northern Irish. And it was so hard to distinguish characters via the narrationas there seemed to be only two variations. Male and Female.

Enjoyable
I have read/listened to this many times, and enjoyed it every time. However, as a half welsh it does grate on me that it is an Irish accent I hear when listening. I have to read over it out loud to get the Welsh.
Still will reread/listen to again though
