Summary
"I lifted my gaze to tell Seth no but then I saw it. The thing I'd feared I'd lost. It wasn't hero worship or the wayward emotions of an innocent child. And it wasn't some distorted reflection of a man who no longer existed. All I saw was me...the way he saw me." (Ronan)
Trauma surgeon Ronan Grisham lost everything the day the man he loved was stolen from him in a brutal attack. Driven by a thirst for vengeance, he turns his hatred into building an underground group that can do what he couldn't that fateful day...take the lives of the guilty to save the lives of the innocent. But years later, he's forced to confront the one link to his past that he can't sever.
Seven years after the loss of his parents in a violent home invasion that left him permanently scarred both inside and out, 21-year-old Seth Nichols is trying to put his life back together so he can take over the reins of his father's global shipping empire. But the last person he expects to come back into his life is the man he drove away with one innocent, stolen kiss.
With one brush of his lips, Seth managed to do to Ronan what no other had since the day Ronan watched the light in his fiancé's eyes go out forever. He made him need again. But Ronan can't need anyone, least of all his dead fiancé's younger brother. Because even one touch from Seth could shatter Ronan's carefully constructed world and Ronan knows there's no coming back from that a second time.
But when a series of escalating attacks against Seth forces Ronan back into his life, Seth knows it's his last chance to show Ronan he can be the man the broken surgeon needs. Only the Ronan who returns isn't the Ronan Seth fell in love with so long ago....
Can Seth be Ronan's salvation or will he end up destroying them both?

Complete surprise
I read this book when it first came out and loved it so I knew I would love the audio copy. This is the first audio book iv listened too and it won't be my last either. You get a complete different experience listening too a book than reading it. When I first read salvation I didn't picture Romans voice like that but Joel did an amazing job at what Roman's voice was meant to sound like. Well done Sloane and Joel this really was a different experience listening to the book instead of reading it.

so much emotion!
When I listen to a book, I try really REALLY hard to write a bit about the book then a separate bit about the narration.
However! Part of the reason I am enjoying these Protectors stories is the narration by Joel Leslie! So I cannot split them!
I'm not a fan of READING first person books and I make no apologies for that but LISTENING to them is becoming a firm favourite! Joel Leslie put so much emotion, feeling so much of the character's very soul into his work, and by god you feel for these guys, you really do!
I have no doubt, no doubt at all, hat I WILL be listening to the others books as they come out in audio. I don't want to switch to reading, I might not enjoy them so much!
5 stars for the book
5 stars for the narration.

Fabulous Narrated
I love Sloane Kennedys books, but listening to Salvation gave it more depth. Reading this book is Joel Leslie(who I have listen to before)
This is the Ronan and Seth. Ronan lost everything the day his lover died, later he kept going back to keep an eye on Seth without Seth knowing, that was until Bullet the dog Ronan had brought for Seth stopped him then the story takes of to different past problems. But of course it ends with the happy ending.
Joel put his whole being into reading this book. Well worth listening too.

Better Than Reading The Book!!
I am going to be totally honest here, and say I loved the book, and I wasn't sure that the audio version would hold me as much as the ebook I have - boy was I wrong about that ! I have actually listened to this about three or four times now, and for some reason it just gets better each time I listen. All the raw emotion that was within the book, is also right here on the audio. Hats off to you Joel Leslie, you were incredible on this audio. This is one audio that I will continue to listen to again and again.
Seth is slowly getting his life back together, since the horrifying event of his parents deaths. However, it seems just as he is beginning to live a more normal life, it seems like someone doesn't want him to do so. Now enter Ronan, who doesn't seem to like being anywhere near Seth - or does he??
Ronan is a total conundrum really. You have met him before, but I have to say I wasn't sure about him. He comes across as a total loner, only interacting when he has to.... but this seems to be just a facade to puts up to keep people away. Is it possible for Seth to break through this façade?
Both Ronan and Seth don't realise how much they need each other, but both have to overcome their fears to get anywhere, but that is not as easy as it seems. To me, Ronan seems to crave what Seth is offering, but is held back in painful memories.
I am not going to give away the plot of the book, but rest assured you will be gripped by this story, complete with twists and turns. You will also be drawn right into the audio with Joel Leslie, he has a way of holding you in the story – so much so that you really won’t want to stop listening!!
If you love Sloane Kennedys books and also like audio I would highly recommend this audio to add to your collection – you will not be disappointed.

great
Enjoyed the story.
Didn't really care for the narration, this was the first book I've listened to by this narrator. Voice was too raspy, like the narrator was yelling while whispering. It wasn't annoying enough that I could not listen or enjoy the story but if the narrator sounds this way for the entire series I would sick of it real fast. (In the bonus first chapter of book 3 the narrator had a cleaner sounding voice).

EMOTIONAL TO THE CORE AND FLAWLESSLY NARRATED.
Where does Salvation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Salvation has been one of my favourite books in The Protector series. I don't know if it's the vulnerability behind the characters, the build up passion between the leads or just the incredible storyline and magnificent writing from Sloane Kennedy. All I know is that this Audio just brought to life a story which I already loved and made it even more special.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It is hard to choose a favourite character, is like having to pick between your kids! Both Seth and Ronan are beautiful characters, they each have endured so much suffering and loss and it is gratifying to see the story allowing them to get their HEA. In perfect Sloane way we are privy to a beautiful romance that is slowly been crafted through the pages of the book.
What about Joel Leslie’s performance did you like?
When I finished the Audio I was ready to message Joel and asked him if I could have his babies LOL but I refrain for the embarrassment and in order to avoid looking like a deranged stalker decided to just put my feelings into words.
Joel Leslie was MAGNIFICENT. He made me cried, he made me sigh, I was completely and utterly dumbfounded. He has bewitched me and I think he was born to play these roles. His voice is so beautiful and carries so much emotion is impossible not to get lost in it. The transitions between dialogues and between so many different characters was done with perfection and in a masterful way. BRAVO!
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A compelling story that will steal your heart!!
Any additional comments?
Sloane Kennedy has created the Protector series which now expand to almost 8 books. There is no surprise why fans have made each and every one of these stories a Bestseller. the books are so well written and have such emotional backdrops they provide readers with a very real scenario, they are passionate and completely addictive. I had read this book back in 2016 and I was glad to have been given the opportunity to now hear the Audio companion. Amazing and much better to be heard via read.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I had never heard a book read before ever. this was hot. I loved it and would recommend for all to listen, you get the gist of it better by the feeling of a voice it puts you in the moment, helps puts the pieces together in your mind much much easier.
I tried reading it while listening and swapping between the two just to see how the difference was, and it was just such an amazing difference, whilst Ronan's voice didnt match the thought it was in my mind it gave my mind something to work with.
Seth too didnt seem to be who my mind had expected him to be, but brought the whole book to life much better,
Ronan losing his cool "Seth so exasperated with him when he couldnt touch him, brought tears to my eyes, and then Ronan losing it in his own room before he has to explain to the man he now loved more than His previous lover, Seth's brother, What had happened to him and his brother had tears and tears down my face I felt and heard rather than made them up in my own mind, it was my most favorite part, to listen as he was broken while the light of Seth pulled his pieces back together was by far better than my own mind could imagine, so please do if you get the chance it's worth it..
What was one of the most memorable moments of Salvation?
When I realised that listening to this book has cracked the moment reading in my mind will not be the same esp in the garage when Ronan got to Seth as Seth thought he was about to be shot and brought Ronan's face into his mind.
Have you listened to any of Joel Leslie’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Never have this was a first for a honest review.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book being heard rather than read brought tears to my eyes as my mind couldnt comprehend the differences being read to rather than me reading them myself.
Any additional comments?
Totally totally addicted now..

A perfect symbiosis of writing and performance
I love Sloane Kennedy's writing and I love Joel Leslie's voice so when the two come together it's as though the stars have aligned to bring us a piece of perfection and escape from reality into the world of the the Protectors.
Joel is a true craftsman of his trade. I can't think of many narrators that are able to bring to life a story with such skill. Every character is distinct and each subtle change in tone, accent and pace makes them unique.
In Salvation, Joel brought Ronan and Seth to life so well it was very hard for me to engage with real life. If the headphones are on don't speak, don't look, don't touch!
This will be an audiobook I will listen to over and over again. Can't wait for the next one.
