About this listen
The complete Rip Cord trilogy:
The Reunion:
Gil Davis hated high school. Ever the geek, he has no intentions of attending his 10th-year class reunion. The last thing he wants is to relive the taunting and teasing he received during his teenage years. However, there is one thing he misses from high school: the star varsity football player. The one he had a crush on from the first day he laid eyes on him. But the last thing he expects is the now-pro football player to come back to their hometown to attend a lame high school reunion. Known as the bad boy of the NFL, Ripley "Rip" Cord not only shows up, but shows up without a date and an eye for Gil.
The Weekend:
Geek Gil Davis hasn't heard a word from NFL player Rip Cord since hooking up at their class reunion. Then Rip calls him unexpectedly; he's taking Gil to his cabin for a weekend of exploration.
The Ever After:
When Rip Cord is kicked out of the NFL, he shows up unexpectedly at Gil Davis' front door. With his career over, Rip's finally ready for a future with Gil, if Gil's willing to give him another chance.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Brilliant entertainment!!
Wow this is a wonderful story. I'm not usually keen on MM romances or sports stories for that matter but I love Jeanne St James writting so I knew i couldn't go far wrong with this one. I was so right!
Beautifully written, sexy, funny and heart wrenching. An endearing story of hope and dreams and the harsher realities of life.
highly recommended!
Great narration.

Gil & Rip
M/M sports romance
In high school they both had crushes on the other but never spoke of it. Gil was bullied and Rip was a star football player. They both had to overcome a lot of obstacles. I do feel like Rip should have had to work a lot harder to earn Gil’s trust and affection. I enjoyed this trilogy. The narration was great I recommend this book. HEA

Finally free
The high school nerd and the popular jock, not an unusual pair. While in high school, nothing ever happened, but 10 years later at their high school reunion things would change. Rip is struggling on his football team, the ultimate bad boy and finds comfort and passion with Gil. Thinking it was only a one night stand, Gil was excited to get the call and spend the weekend with Rip. And their relationship begins to build. I am not normally an MM listener, but when this story came out, I was intrigued. I love the character of Rip. He is the ultimate hunky man, but is so tortured by his secrets. At times I felt Gil needed a little more backbone, but reflecting on the story, I think he was able to give Rip what he needed to become the man he is supposed to be. With hot, erotic scenes, love and understanding, Jeanne St James has written an enjoyable listen.
This is my first narration by John Solo, and I loved his voice for Rip. I did think he gave Gil a pretty weak voice, and while his character is more introverted, I would have liked him to have a little more confidence. His pace was great and he gave the men just the right amount of emotions.

Entertaining
I liked this story, it had a good storyline that progresses nicely to a happy ending. Rip did however have to grow on me, he was obnoxious in the beginning but in the end he was........cannot reveal it all.
Lots of intense scenes between Rip and Gil.
Maybe not the story that goes deeply in to serious topics but rather scratches the surface and that’s okay, it’s entertaining and I liked it.
Narrator:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings

Definitely an NSFW MM romance
This audiobook just wasn't my cup of tea. The story was primarily erotica with a bit of romance, and while i like my erotica as much, if not more than the next girl. I didn't feel like there was enough romance to satisfy me. John Solo did a great job narrating, i really liked his voice for Rip. I was less fond of his interpretation of Gil, as it was a little too feminine for my taste, but it was consistent and distinct and I never had any difficulty following the story. This book was all kinds of hotness, and will definitely be in the wheelhouse of other listeners.
