Summary
Twenty-one-year-old college student, Adriana Nikolas, doesn't really know what to make of Raptor, the sexy biker who seems to be obsessed with getting into her pants. Hot or not, she knows from their first encounter that he's dangerous, both in and out of bed. What Raptor wants, Raptor gets. Right now, he wants Adriana and will do whatever it takes to claim her as his woman. But, she keeps resisting, which isn't something that the road captain of the Gold Vipers is accustomed to. Arrogant, cocky, and stubborn, Raptor takes on the challenge, and in the meantime, gets much more than what he'd bargained for. Meanwhile, Slammer, president of the Gold Vipers, seeks justice for the rape of his Old Lady's daughter.

Meh
Firstly, the narration is awful. It was a struggle to keep going, she makes the girls sound shallow and vacuous, although to be fair some of them are. Some of the male voices are slightly better but only marginally so.
The story is alright I suppose. Not really happy that it's a 2 part story, but I've bought the ebook version of the second part coz I can't face the narrator for another 6 hours but it ended on such a cliffhanger that I do really quite want to see how it resolves, especially as there was a giant bomb followed by a huge twist in the last 90 seconds or so.
It all seemed a bit far fetched and really quite unrealistic at times, and I definitely found myself muttering "aw for fu...." quite a few times.
Adriana seems nice enough, a bit overpowered by her mum and too concerned about what her mum would think rather than what Adriana herself wants.
Her mum really seemed quite bitchy towards Trevor, which is a shame because although he's in a "gang", he seems like a genuinely nice guy, who volunteers with at risk kids and does a bit of emergency fostering when the shelters are full, although this is never explained to the mum, where if it was my mum being a douche canoe about a guy a liked, calling him a thug and a criminal etc, I would definitely be singing his praises and telling her about all the good things he does, but maybe that's just me.
Trevor is a typical alpha male, sees what he wants and goes for it, and struggles with deafness when the word "no" comes up, but you get the feeling he really does care for Adriana and would never do anything to physically harm her, and it seemed to me when he spoke harshly towards her, it was because she had genuinely hurt him and he doesn't know how to deal with it.
The last few minutes of the book had me absolutely raging, Trevor wasn't exactly nice to another character but you get the feeling he sees his whole happy life slipping from his fingers and the way he reacts is understandable. What he does after that though makes no sense to me and is obviously just a device to sell book two and generate some angst, coz he totally had options other than the one he chose, and had he been my boyfriend, there would definitely be words being had about his life choices.
To sum it up, it's an alright plot but it definitely could have been handled better and a lot of the dialogue is annoying, but i still wanted to know what was going to happen next, but the narrator ruined it quite a bit also, possibly the dialogue wouldn't have sounded so bad with a better narrator.

Interesting
This one was certainly an interesting book and some of the side characters that I have met in this book have convinced me that I want to listen to more of these books. The narration wasn’t the very best but I found the story was interesting enough to continue easily enough

Okay Story
Title: Resisting the Biker
Author: Cassie Alexandra
Format: Audio
Narrator: Nina Sumter
Genre: Romance, suspense, dark, MC
Standalone: Nope - ends on a cliffhanger
Part of a Series: The Biker book 1
POV: Mostly Adriana and Raptor
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
3/5
Resisting the Biker is the first book I've read by Cassie Alexandra (I think). The story was okay and the cliffhanger wasn't terrible - a good place to end but the story isn't complete. I didn't really like Adriana or her friends and the narrator was...not great. I bumped the speed in order to get through it quicker. The story is good and I like the mystery but this book doesn't focus much on it. I hope that future books will explore this more. I'll probably continue with this series but I hope the narrator changers.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobooks Unleashed. This is my honest and voluntary review.
