Summary
In a dark world where humans are little more than fodder for vampires, Caleb is looking for a break...even if that break means he has to become Liam's plaything. When he gives up his freedom, Caleb's training begins. Will obedience and pleasure go hand in hand in his new life as Liam's puppy?
This peek into the Fate of the Fallen/Status Quo world is a stand-alone out of the time line of both series. This book contains puppy play. I consider it "playful dark erotica".

PUPPY
It is very entertaining with a great story and narrator. It was short enough that I was able to listen in one sitting

Enjoyable story
Liam a 500 yr old vampire goes into the slums and finds Caleb a human who tries to kill him. Liam decides he would like to keep him as a pet and makes him pretend to be a puppy. Short and cute. 1st time narrator for me I found it sounded more like he was reading then performing but that is just my opinion

Puppy
I liked the story right from the start, even though the world is not fully explained you quickly learn that humans are no longer the top of the food chain. They are food, or pets, if they are lucky.

A good puppy
As most things that come from the mind of R. Phoenix, this one is as twisted as the rest and contains a puppy with a real tail. A little treat I hadn't even managed to imagine myself. Though as soon as names were dropped I knew where it could lead.
This was a quick listen, close to two hours and a few moments had me laughing out loud because Caleb is delightfully sassy and Liam needs to work on his understanding of humans.
I was a bit let down by the narrator as I didn't feel he did the book complete justice, the only way I can describe is way of speaking was sharp, it lacked the smoothness. But it didn't ruin the story for me, I'm curious where the two will go.

A Satisfying, Sexy Listen
This was my first foray into puppy play books, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable.
Author R. Phoenix does an excellent job of creating and describing this alternate world where humans no longer rule. Well written and captivating, with a very satisfying conclusion.
The narrator also does a very good job and moves the story and action along at a nice pace.
Overall, this was a fun, sexy listen, and I look forward to hearing more of this author's audiobooks.

Leaves you wanting just a bit more.
Okay so this is a short paranormal story (which was great for my car journeys) where humans are now at the low end of the class system. Caleb, thought he was protected but is found, Liam is a vampire who finds Caleb and after a taste finds his blood intoxicating and decides to keep Caleb as a puppy.
I enjoyed this story and really wish there was more.
Here is the ‘but’ part of the review, I really did not like the narrator, he sounded like he had a blocked nose and his accent for Liam sounded like a certain Austrian actor with the catchphrase of “I’ll be Back” it totally put me off..
I will probably go and read the book to get my own voices for when I read the next one in the series..

Where do I start.
At least it was short. The narrator was very stoccato in his readings. I found it very hard to warm to him.
The story itself was written very sharply so the overall performamce was dire.
But that is only my opinion. Others may like it.
