About this listen
Book 3 in the Hard Rock Harlots series
Nocturnes contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.
WARNING: Nocturnes addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.
Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.
And he’s no good. For anyone.
After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they’ve had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.
Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly, until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn’t abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.
She’s perfect in every way.
Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past, and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future....

Absolutely brilliant
This book in the series shows the more serious side to addiction. With issues we sometimes think we are alone but reach out, there’s usually someone close by that can help. With strong characters and a challenging storyline i really enjoyed it. A fantastic performance from both Lessa and Cal.

Excellent
Nocturnes was well written and intense. Super hot, gritty and full of emotion with humor mixed in. I’d recommend reading the series in order and heeding the warning in the book summary. Love the well-developed characters of Rax and Eve and love getting more of the rest of the band members. Kendall Grey’s writing brought the characters, their relationships and their issues to life. Perfect narration by Lessa Lamb and Cal Sanders!

Rax’s Story
Just when I think I have a handle on how things will go, we get thrown for a loop. This book has one of the raunchiest scenes in a book I have consumed‼️We get to know Rax on a deeper emotional level. Alcohol has been his crutch for so long he can’t seem to quit. We meet Eve/Lola, a stripper at an exclusive club. I liked seeing both aspects of her character to fully understand her motivations to choose that path in life. Lots of emotions in this story. The narration was sooo good!

So intense!
This audio is pretty mind blowing on so many different levels. Bringing Rax to the fore, with Eve, we are ringside for his often hilarious, but also painful, fall into the poisonous arms of alcohol. Wve's courageous, open approach to life has led her to dancing in Nocturnes and treading a thinning line with her own safety. The internal dialogue of both Rax and Eve work perfectly to highlight their pasts, their characters and their attitudes, while also underlining how very good a story is being told. Rax's 'relationship ' with alcohol is toxic and impacting everything and everyone. But he never wavers in his pull towards Eve.
Both the narrators of this audio have been outstanding, and admire their verbal aplomb when reciting sonme of the juicier, cruder parts of the book! A lot of fun and food for thought. Interesting combination, expecially in this setting. 💖💖💖💖💖

Read the Blurb!
Definitely read the blurb before getting this book, the warnings are real. It starts out pretty hard core, but in my opinion the book just kept getting better and better as the story went on. Both main characters deal with real life struggles. I have enjoyed this entire series. I believe they are stand alone books, however if you want to listen to them all start with “Strings” then “Beats” then “Nocturnes” that way you can get to know all the characters. The narration was amazing! I definitely recommend this series IF you read the blurb and think it sounds like something you would like. Lots of bad language and hard core heated scenes. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession
