Summary

Byron Crowne is a charming liar and a gorgeous monster.
I detest him.
I can't resist him.
He’s awakened desires I didn’t know I had.
When he touches me, I need to fight him…and I need him to win.
Our one night stand bruises my skin and leaves dents in the walls, but the sheets aren't the only thing we shred that night.
And suddenly, the stakes are higher than ever.

Olivia Monroe lights a fire in me that died a long time ago.
I’m a different man when I’m with her. I need to own her, take her, mark her as mine.
Everything changes when she might be pregnant and for the first time in my life…I’m powerless against this stubborn, untamable woman.
She’s the one in control and I have an impossible job:
Prove I’m worthy to be a father.

OMG where do I start.

Kind of book 1 to the Crowne series. OMG this book is so hot I had to make sure I didn’t listen to it with people around me.
Absolutely fantastic narration and I can’t wait for more.

All in All 4/5 stars. Great author

I love female characters that don't give up their dreams for men. She changes him by being who she is and he grows into himself without breaking her apart in order to do so. They are both strong characters that don't loose their personalities through the book. Mega hot too.

Just as dark as I expected

It was just as dark as I expected–i.e. not too much, and balanced with deep feelings. I wasn’t prepared for the slight BDSM relationship, although I shouldn’t be surprised, since it isn’t my first book by this author.

As usual, the various themes and plot elements are heavy: the death of a loved one, the medically assisted procreation, the place of women in a familly… Next to those, the mutual attraction between enemies is almost light and happy–don’t worry, it is not.

My main problem is that I didn’t really find any of the main characters likeable. Olivia was selfish, and Byron clearly disturbed. But, I don’t know, I still enjoyed the way they found each other and, though after a difficult journey, found peace in each other.

The casting for both narrators was spot one. Though the male narrator can sometimes sound monotonous, he was perfect for Byron, and the female narrator always does a great job with broken characters. I was a bit puzzled by the fact that the text exchanges were in duet narration, instead of dual like the rest of the book.

Not everyone’s cup of tea I assume, but a great book nonetheless.

Normally I love CD Riess BUUT

I normally love CD Reiss books but not this one

I tried and tried but I could just get in to it. it had a hard time catching my focus. and I think the sex scenes were very flawed and boring in what CD reiss usually writes.
