About this listen
This is a full-length companion novel to the New York Times best-selling Fixed Trilogy. It is not meant to be read as a stand-alone. "I can easily divide my life into two parts - before her and after." Hudson Pierce has led a life few others could even imagine. With money and power at his fingertips, he's wanted for almost nothing. He's never experienced love, however, and he's seen few examples of it in his dysfunctional family. The ridiculous notion of romance has always intrigued him. He's studied it, controlled it, manipulated it, and has yet to understand it. Until he meets Alayna Withers. Now, the games he's played in his quest for comprehension can finally come to an end. Or are they just beginning? Told from his point of view, Hudson fills the holes in his love story with Alayna Withers. His past and relationship with his long-time friend Celia is further revealed and light is shed on his actions during his courtship with Alayna. Must be read after The Fixed Trilogy. Book One: Fixed On You Book Two: Found in You Book Three: Forever with You Companion: Hudson

Swoon!!!
I have to admit that I loved the Fixed trilogy so I was very excited when I found out that we get the story told from Hudson's perspective as I found I had previously had very little sympathy for him.
Not so now, now I might have a slight literary crush on Hudson!
This really is just a retelling of the tale with a few choice moments from Hudson's past thrown in. That's not much you might say but light is thrown on not only Hudson's back story but Celia as well. And I hate to admit it but I now, kind of, fell sorry for Celia and I really hate her. Also this book confirmed what I always suspected and that's the Mira is awesome. I loved her already but she's just awesome.
I also had this as an audio from Audible and the voice actor, James Patrick Nelson, was just melt your socks off HOT!!

Nice blank filler...but that's all it is.
I'm a completionist, so after reading the first 3 books I of course had to get this one to continue the series correctly. It's a book to fill in some gaps and give the other sides perspective on the story, obviously enough, but I couldn't help but hope that Hudson fell on his face a bit more, the guy is an asshole who I'm not sure deserved a happy ending, but that's just my opinion.
The narrator was painful to my ears, dull and drawl, and don't even get me started on how he says the word 'face'...its just odd. I'll be avoiding books with this narrator in the future he just wasn't for my ears.
An overall 3 star piece in my opinion. I hope the next ones are better.

it was so nice to hear things from Hudson's point of view. The way the story is structured as well is great, before and after Alayna

a relisten
I think this is the 5th or 6th time I listen to this book. and i have read it a few times also.
it's a Hudson pov to laurelins fixed trilogi. you cant listen to this without listening or reading the trilogi first.
The first time i listened to it. I didn't like the narrators voice. But i must say. This is the voice of Hudson. it's strong and good. and i I dont think it could be anybody els doing this.
I have said this alot of times before and I will say it again. laurelin cant writh a bad book. in my World it's all 5 stars.
I love this book because it gives a insight to why Hudson plays his games. what made him do it. how it all started and why Celia is such a big part of the games. so if you love Hudson in fixed. then you will only love him more after this book.

A surprisingly good story
Usually I'm disappointed when you get the guy's version of events but this was a revelation - I even felt sympathetic towards Hudson and it filled in all the blanks. Definitely worth listening too, I was riveted.
