About this listen
Lex can’t stand Theo. Theo thinks Lex is a dick. Except one dating app mishap is about to bring them so much closer together.
Theo: I’ve dated every shade of shitty guy imaginable, yet I keep boyfriending them. Mostly because my empty house doesn’t align with the happily-ever-after fantasies I’ve had since I was a kid.
No more. After my last boyfriend cheated on me, I’m flings only, even if temptation dangles my way. And when Lex shows up to fix my wiring issue, he’s pure temptation—at least until he decides to randomly hate my guts. Luckily, the sexy guy I’m talking to on the CoffeeDates app is the perfect chance for a one-night stand—no drama, no betrayal, and most importantly, no boyfriending.
LexI: Avoid rich assholes at all costs. One broken engagement later, I learned they’ll never stick around for blue collar guys like me. Even though Theo flips my switches, the holier-than-thou upper-class attitude is enough that I’m keeping my distance. Until I find out the guy I’ve been falling hard for over the dating app is none other than Theo. All that chemistry between us explodes, and one night turns into another and then another. But he’s not looking for a boyfriend, and I am—and there’s only so long this can last before one of us ends up brokenhearted.

Naughty spicy fun
Although the misunderstanding that causes Lex and Theo to become enemies is a bit of a ridiculous set up that had me wondering if I'd enjoy this as much as book 1, I loved how it developed into their enmity and real life Vs their growing chemistry when they connect via a new dating app and their super spicy relationship was a delight from beginning to end (and hoo-boy much much hotter than book one, in the best way). I can't wait to read the next one. Narrator Dylan Rockwell is great, and brought SO MUCH enthusiasm to the book, especially in the steamy scenes. Honestly he sounded like he was having way too much fun ;)

Enjoyed it
Fantastic enemies to lovers story.
Lex and Theo had a bumpy start but joining a dating app slowly brings them together. Both made assumptions without really knowing each other. These two were great together and their chemistry was insane.
Narrator’s performance was amazing.

Hot Indeed, Sweet Too! Terrific Story & Listen🎧
Katherine McIntyre delivers some more 'Hot Under the Collar' greatness in this second book of the series and she turns up the heat, too. This is a fantastic enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, romance, the story drew me right in and captivated my attention straight to the end. Lex and Theo make assumptions about each based on their own history and experience, assumptions that are completely off-base. The banter between these two is amazing, and you would almost think it was foreplay, well maybe it is because the chemistry between them is undeniable and when the unexpected happens, we see how explosive it can be. The unexpected was them chatting with each on a dating app, unknowingly, until they decide to meet in person and then the hot fun really begins. I enjoyed how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I love how realistic and relatable the characters are and it is great to get to know them. There is never a dull moment, and the story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Katherine McIntyre, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Dylan Rockwell continues to do a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them with their personality and their emotions. I like how he takes each role and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He handled the back-and-forth banter with easy and lands the humor and snark effortlessly. Rockwell is a versatile voice artist and his performance makes the story even more enjoyable. Thank you for another great listen.

Fun quick read
Hate to love
Anonymous messaging
Mild k!nk
I really like this book. It was my favourite between the first and second in this series. It ticked a lot of my boxes.
Lex and Theo find relief from their hatred of each other by griping about their issues to anonymous buddies met on a dating app. Shockingly they are each other’s buddies 🤫
I am a massive fan of anon/unknown messaging (email, text, Post-it). It will instantly make me want to keep reading and this book was good enough to over come the narration (much like the audio for the first book…it’s not good).
I've really like this series and am really excited about the upcoming third book, while I love to listen to a book (which I did for both the first and second in this series). I will likely brain read the third.
The Narration - 😬 1.5 speed felt normal paced. I had a difficult time differentiating the characters because the narrator used the same voice/inflection for both MC's.
The audiobook edition has repeated lines. The editing felt like it was a little bit of a mess.

Enjoyable
This story is just full of fun. Two experienced guys with hangups from previous relationships get tossed together. In the beginning both hate the other for reasons true or not. Since they have friends in common they are forced to behave somewhat civilly.
Then both looking for something to ease the loneliness when online strange things start happening.
The banter back and forth between these two is so much fun. The sneaking around is funny. The excuses and accusations kept me page turning. This is a easy, enjoyable read.

Entertaining tension turned to love
Dylan has, again, provided wonderful narration for the characters in this book. It's even more fun to hear the wires being crossed and misunderstandings between the two men, and then tension of another kind that shines hot and heavy. It makes for an entertaining listen and an enjoyable few hours.
Hot Under the Collar is a great series to read/listen to. It has entertaining characters and this time there is an enemies to lovers vibe between Lex and Theo as wires get crossed and wrong impressions assumed.
Theo couldn't be more different from the stuck up rich guy that Lex assumes he is and it's fun to read their snipes at each other, especially when they come to meet each other as the strangers that have gotten to know, and like each other, well on a dating app. That's quite the shock but has a fabulous ending, for both men, although Theo's is edged a little longer :-)
Both Lex and Theo have had bad relationship experiences with being cheated on and whilst both really are made for long term relationships, because of his run of bad boyfriends, Theo has determined that it's only hookups for him. Lex bombs that idea for him as the more time spent together, the more they each realise how much they truly like about the other man, and not just in the bedroom (and bathroom, car, against the wall) where they spark their chemistry to life.
I love the low angst romance story and how it comes to work out for them. Lex also has quite a poor relationship with his parents but has always had Colt (book one) and his father, who he calls McDad which I just found adorable. No matter how snarky Lex is, there is still a good heart that he shows to those he cares about. Theo's goodness shines from him, as does his hurt from those past boyfriends and mentions of them from his friends and family. Lex really steps up here and demonstrates how he and Theo fit together so well.
A great story to read that is fairly low angst with a lot of snark, hot and sweaty scenes with first impressions knocked out of the water. I'm looking forward to what comes next for Liam.

Such an amazing book!
After a series of horrible boyfriends Theo decides to stay away from relationships. Alex also just had a bad break up and is hurt. The two of them end up in the same friends group and their story starts.
My goodness this book was everything. I got lost in the story and the characters. Their chemistry was so so so good! Absolutely explosive! And the misunderstanding with the dating app had me laughing out loud. Alex and Theo were both so lovable and relatable, I had the best time reading their journey to happily ever after. Words are not enough to express how much joy this book brought me.
If you are in the mood for a sweet enemies to lovers romance I highly highly recommend it! The narrator was amazing and really brought to life Theo and Alex! So good!

cheeky, fun, steamy!!!
Fast paced, opposites attract and heaps of sparks, these two characters were so much fun to read.
The banter and cheekiness was next level and then catching feelings made things all the more interesting.
I'm totally loving this series and these unorthodox but perfect pairings. Add in a wonderful geeky found family and I'm hooked!!!

arc review
This can be read as a standalone. The same group of friends are involved in both books and these two MCs were introduced in book 1 but u can easily follow the story on it's own. I do recommend book 1 though as it was wonderful.
I loved the first book but this one was just ok. I stayed for the steam which there is plenty but the storyline was weak IMO and I could not connect with either character. I found them to be not very likeable and lacking any real chemistry other than physical. They tell their friends it is just physical and they don't like each other and while in other books characters say that and I can feel that they are lying, in this case I totally agreed with them. It felt very forced. It seemed like every little jab was based on assumpstions and bias and that is frustrating.
I'd still read the next book and hope that it's on the same level as book one. I wouldn't read this one again.
Narration = 3.5 stars
The narrators voice was pleasant to listen to. He kept a good pace and expressed the emotions well bringing the story to life. Unfortunately he didn't give any of the characters distinct voices. This performance was a little less enjoyable than his book 1 performance. Overall I still enjoyed the narration enough to listen to him again.

Enjoyable story
Theo and Lex are great characters. Both men have problems from previous relationships. It's an enemies to lovers story with sparks flying from the beginning.
I found the story humorous because Lex and Theo would like to behave differently than they do in the presence of their mutual friends. That was quite funny to watch.
I really enjoyed the story with the two of them.
The back and forth banter between the two was wonderful and the excuses and accusations often made me smile.
I really liked this amusing and entertaining story and recommend it!
