About this listen
Gabriel's Inferno is the first in this intoxicating trilogy featuring Gabriel and Julia, following their sensual journey of forbidden love - with all the obsessive yearning of Twilight and the intensity of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Two lovers bound by their darkest desires....
Professor Gabriel Emerson has embarked on a passionate but clandestine love affair with his former student, Julia Mitchell, and is teaching her the sensual delights of the body and the raptures of sex.
But their happiness is threatened by conspiring students, academic politics and jealous ex-lovers. Can their love survive against all odds, and will Gabriel fight to keep Julia?
Gabriel's Rapture is an exquisite story of a forbidden love that knows no bounds that will touch your mind, body and soul.
Sylvain Reynard is a Canadian writer with an interest in Renaissance art and culture and an inordinate attachment to the city of Florence.

Well worth waiting for
As I have previously said of Gabriel's Inferno. I adore the books and couldn't wait to hear the audio. John Michael Morgan has such an enchanting voice, almost like he pulls you inside the book. Excellent

Beautiful writing and narration
This trilogy is my favorite ever. The writer Sylvain Raynard has crafted a beautiful story with such brilliant characters. The narrator is absolutely perfect he truly does these books justice. This story will stay with me forever.

Not for me
I really struggled to finish this book (and the first book). Once I start a story I feel committed to get to the end which is the only reason I gave book 2 a go, but for me, this book had the same issues I had with book 1, the story is too slow paced, I feel like I am listening chapter upon chapter and not a lot is happening and the constant 'oh gods of all gods who are' etc etc is just annoying. I will be returning this book and book 3 without listening to it

Beautifully described nonsense.
This is a beautifully crafted novel. The language is lush and descriptive and so detailed that places spring to life. However it is also very pretentious and I struggled to get through this and the first book. I couldn’t have cared less about the lead the character and the dialogue made me cringe. It may have been the narrator, and this book might read better, but the pronunciation was truly awful. The male character is shallow with no depth, even his deep dark secrets are manufactured and over dramatised. The female protagonist is an absolute drip of a woman who needs to grow a back bone. The sex scenes are neither raunchy nor romantic and are yawn inducing. I wouldn’t waste your money on this one and there has been nothing in the two books I have listened to by the author to recommend perusing their other titles.
