About this listen
In a story of serendipity and personal growth, two individuals' lives will intersect in the most unexpected way.
Joey Beckham exudes creativity and independence. She's about to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, fulfilling her late father's dream of visiting the Greek island of Crete. But Joey's world is flipped upside down when she discovers a heart-wrenching betrayal.
Cam Connelly is accustomed to taking care of others, but he desperately yearns to break away from his family's expectations and nurture desires of his own. Will he choose the life they set out for him or the path that fuels the spark in his soul?
Fate weaves its intricate web when Joey and Cam find themselves stranded on a picturesque Greek island. They must join forces to navigate their way home. There's just one problem: The bed-and-breakfast has only one vacant room. With one bed. But it's fine. They'll never see each other again, right?
Packed with laugh-out-loud humor, witty banter, and a whole lot of spice, For the Plot proves second chances are possible and that a person can pursue their dreams while sharing them with the people they love most. For the Plot is the first book in the All for Love interconnected standalone series but can be listened to on its own.

For the Plot is the first book in the All For Love series. Joey is a struggling expiring writer. She lost her dad when she was a teen, and her mother turned to alcohol and drugs afterwards. She decides to take a cruise in Greece to respect her father’s wishes. While she was on her trip her current boyfriend Tyler got caught cheating. The day after she got stranded on an island during a rainstorm and missed her transportation back to the ship. However, she wasn’t the only one that got stranded. Cameron was also stranded with Joey. Cam is the next heir to several hotel chains. His parents expect him to take over the family business and marry for status. He was in a somewhat arranged marriage. This trip was where he was to purpose. That didn’t go quite as he planned. His so-called girlfriend broke things off. Now fast forward and they are both single and stranded in a hotel room with one bed until they can catch a ride back to their cruise ship the next morning. Things get spicy in this book. This book does have cheating but not from the main characters. I’m interested to see where this series goes.
Alexis Paige and JF Harding did a fabulous job narrating this book in duet style narration.

Second chance romance
Audiobook review: narrated by JF Harding and Alexis Paige
3.5 stars for story / 4.5 stars for performance
I do love a “he-falls-first” trope and that is definitely what’s going on in this book. After both Joey (Josefine) and Cam find themselves suddenly single and stranded, they decide to have a one-time fling, but in any good second-chance romance, fate has brought them back to the scene. I liked the pacing of this book and it’s hard to find fault in Cam’s character. He is swoony throughout. I didn’t really sympathy with Joey like I felt I was meant to but overall it was a minor issue for me.
The audio helped keep me engaged to the story. Both narrators did a great job with amplifying the emotions of their respective characters and the duet style was truly appreciated. For those audiobook enthusiasts, I suggest setting the speed a bit slower than usual as it took me a bit to find the sweet spot but once I did it was a pleasant listening experience.

Fun tropical vacation vibes
Story: 3.5/5
Performance: 3.5 /5
While this was overall a fun read, there were a few aspects that left me with mixed feelings about the book. As the author’s debut, I think this was pretty good. While this is an overall upbeat story, there are discussions of some heavy topics.
The premise of the story was exciting. I enjoyed the banter and the cute, swoony moments. They come from different worlds but both have things holding them back from living their best lives. They find each other at a pivotal point in their lives and inspire each other to make positive changes in their life. There’s quite a bit of spice in this book, but it doesn’t overshadow the plot, it actually aides in the development their relationship. I didn’t feel that deep of an emotional connection, like you’d expect from a fated couple, though.
There’s a great cast of side characters and some family drama that add depth to the story. Cam and Joey’s best friends Ezra and Millie are very supportive and push them to go after what makes them happy.
The beginning of the book felt a bit slow to me, with readers being introduced to Joey’s normal routine. There was also a bit of an info dump. I found myself thinking, “we could have found this stuff out as the book went along.” Around the middle to last third of the book, the story seemed to lag, with Joey and Cam repeatedly encountering the same hurdle and having essentially the same conversations.
It’s narrated in duet, which I love. It’s generally a more immersive experience than dual and solo narration. I really enjoyed J.F. Harding’s performance. I think his voice was perfect for the role of Cameron – deep and commanding, but also gentle and caring. His portrayal of all the male side characters was also very convincing. Alexis Paige is fairly new to me. While I enjoyed her performance overall, there were moments when it felt more like being read to than immersed in the story. When I read, I often feel like I’m experiencing the story as either the main character or an additional secondary character, so the sense of detachment pulled me out of the story.
I think this is a good book if you’re looking for something funny, and spicy with tropical vacation vibes.

Fun! Fun! Fun!
Now this is a fun listen! Katie Van Brunt is a new to me author, but I will definitely be watching for more from her after hearing this one! What happens when a chance meeting turns into being your soulmate? Joey and Cam met in Crete. Cam saw her at the beach even before they met, and once they did, the chemistry was there. Now after a night of passion, they leave, both with different missions. Now it's a year later, Cam has made life changing decisions leading him back to Crete and Joey has gone back with her best friend to enjoy the island once again. Will the second time around be their time? Joey is a mess. She has had family problems her entire life, and dealing with her parents is tough on her. Then a relationship gone bad has her heart guarded. Cam is following his dream without his parents support, and now with Joey near, things are about to change. For the Plot is packed with passion, humor and a plot that is charming and addicting. I loved getting to know them all and am looking forward to book 2!
Bringing this gem to life is JF Harding and Alexis Paige. I love both of these narrators, and their voices fit all the characters as I would have expected them to sound. Harding pulls out all the stops as Cam, from the dutiful to rebellious son, the manipulating ex and the charming boyfriend! Paige is Joey, lots of layers to her personality and she peels each one off revealing exactly who she is. I enjoyed their performance.
