Summary
"I felt Ren at my back like someone would feel death looming."
Pawn.
Princess.
Prey.
Since I can remember, I’ve been a pawn in someone’s game.
Danger was looming but never enough to harm me.
Until now.
Then he came along. My new bodyguard. The only person who saw past my edges.
Meanwhile, I was rooted deep in a web of deception, trying to save myself.
He was supposed to protect me and keep me from harm's way. Just like everyone else, he wanted to break me.
Now we’ve both been thrown into a game neither one of us wanted to play.
I was taught to be unbreakable like a diamond. I was a diamond, and diamonds don't break.
Author's Note: This is a dark romance and deals with a lot of triggering content.

Amazing dual narration from Cat Baroco and Javi Wilder
This book is the story Ember and Ren. It is full of twists and turns. It is a love story between Ember a diamond heiress and Ren her bodyguard. It is dark and gritty, not for the faint hearted.

Dark romance and multiple POVs
This is a good romantic suspense, with fantastic characters Ember, Marcus, Michael, and Ren, and we get all their POVs which made it even better. The story will hook you from the start, with lots of twisted and compelling scenes, you get the dark past of the characters, their mystery, and the violence you know you get from a dark romance. The audiobook narrated by Cat Baroco and Javi Wilder was well performed, they both did a good job portraying their characters.

Dark & Steamy
Dark, steamy and erotic, we are treated by C Lymari at her best. Meet Ember Remington, heiress to a diamond empire. Growing up showing her bad girl, bratty ways, she isn't all the public sees. But her status and family require her to have a bodyguard. Ren Falcon is assigned, and he is taking his job very seriously. But there is so much more to these two than meets the eye. Lymari pens a story full of layers. Ember, though from a family of wealth and influence has not had a happy childhood. There is much more depth to her than meets the eye, and Ren can see it. Ren has his own agenda, but now Ember has thrown a wrench into his plans. And the family is nothing short of dysfunctional. The twists and turns this takes are unexpected, cringe worthy and had me on the edge. Lymari has a fantastic story sure to take you out of your comfort zone, keep you riveted and have you rooting for Ember and Ren! You just aren't sure how it's all going to end, so keep listening to find out!
Cat Borraco and Javi Wilder gives us all the darkness and suspense with a fantastic performance. This is my first book by Borraco and she portrays Ember with ease. Falling into character, she gives us all the facets Ember's personality and has us feeling her emotions. Wilder is fast becoming a favorite and he gives Ren all the darkness. These two together make this a memorable performance!

Intense story.
With and intense storyline that doesn't always match up somehow, we have our lead partisans, Falcon/Ren and Ember fight and grow on each other as the story proceeds. Ember's situation is difficult and vulnerable, though she also possesses determination and grit. I really felt for her on many occasions. She lives in a gilded chamber of horrors, numbing her way through life as best she can.
Ren's appearance in her life ignites slow changes, and, though he is the hero of the piece, there were times when I didn't like him very much. He did improve however!
Cat Baroco and Javi Wilder were both very good at bringing the characters to life, though, as a Brit listening to Javi's English accent was a fingernail on chalkboard experience! That aside, both narrators controlled yhe narrative, were expressive and convincing. 💖💖💖💖

So dark
Wow, can we say dark and wow. I was hooked from page 1. The story felt different as I listened and everything felt new, but like I was in it. It really captured my imagination and I had the hardest time left go. Such an intense pull on me.

Dark and Mind-Blowing
Falcon's prey is a brilliantly written and enthralling dark romance between two damaged souls, a diamond heiress and her bodyguard. The plot is an intricate web of deception wrapped in suspense, danger, secrets, angst, heat, sensuality, and drama. The storyline is incredibly addicting, drawing and immersing me with its grittiness, rawness, and numerous twists and turns. As for the main characters, Ember Remington and Ren Falcon, the dichotomy and tension between them were simply captivating. C. Lymari has done a phenomenal job of depicting the torrents of emotions flowing through Ember and Falcon, effectively making them relatable. I could easily sense their hope, despair, anger, violence, need, passion, or love
Initially, I didn't really like Ember's character; she didn't really appeal to me. She was depicted as spoiled, selfish, demanding, and could deliver words that would cut to the very depths of a person's being. As the story progressed, her true self, hidden behind the forged facade was gradually exposed layer by layer. As for Falcon, he is ruthless dangerous, cold, and dominating with his own agenda and wasn't going to let himself be manipulated by Ember's methods. The chemistry between them was combustible, exuding sensuality and heat, driven by passion and dark desires. Their journey is not for the faint of heart; it's deliciously dark and thrilling, shadows lurking in the corners, twisted but riveting and addictive. The story is completely unpredictable; I was on the razor's edge with anticipation, wondering what was coming next and whether or not I was prepared for it. It was great! I loved it! That being said, here is a warning, there are elements in the story that are triggering for some.
The narration was outstanding. Cat Baroco and Javi Wilder completely understood the characters, and their portrayal of them was spot-on. They set the perfect tone for the story capturing all the characters' emotions and projecting them into their performance. It was a pleasure listening to them. Falcon's Prey was much more than I'd expected; it was mind-blowing, wicked, and thrilling. I'm recommending this book wholeheartedly to all dark romance enthusiasts.

Dark Romance
Falcon's Prey is a dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Cat Baroco and Javi Wilder.
This is the fifth book of Claudia's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I am a little torn on this book, because I wasn't pulled in by the characters like I usually am with Claudia's books. I enjoyed getting Ember, Ren, Marcus, and Michael's points of view throughout the book.
Cat and Javi did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like romantic suspense.
