Summary
Stone Reeves was my neighbor, and I've hated him since sixth grade.
Gorgeous and charismatic, he became the town's football god, while I became the town's invisible girl.
He went to a Division 1 school for football, while my father was fired by his father.
His team won the National Championship, while my mother died the same day.
He was a first round pick for the NFL...
...while I made the worst decision of my life.
Now I'm in Texas trying to pick up the pieces of my life.
But, Stone is here.
Stone is everywhere.
It doesn't matter that disaster has struck my life again.
It doesn't matter that he's the one trying to console me.
It doesn't matter that he's the nation's newest football obsession.
Because for me, he always has been and always will be my enemy.

One of my favourite Tijan books
I’ve listened to this numerous times and it’s one of my favourite Tijan books.
Set in college Dusty has transferred colleges in her Junior year, following a traumatic time in her life. Shes introverted, wary, and just wants to study and live her life in peace. Not to be. Further trauma brings a re-introduction to her childhood best friend Stone, who she now “hates”, who is a reminder of the trauma she suffered at the hands of his parents. He seems to want to help her though and a relationship of sorts begins, but where will it lead?
There is the usual college angst we get from a Tijan book, stories that go nowhere, some that go somewhere and at the heart of it all a reluctant romance. There is high drama, and angst galore.
The narrators are brilliant, although Jason only gets to do a couple of chapters which is disappointing. Savannah does a great job though.
Well worth a credit.

Where was Jason Clarke?
Really liked the emotion in this story and Savannah Peachwood is always excellent. However if you are hoping to hear Jason Clarke, you'll have a long wait, and he only gets to read ONE chapter near the end. I prefer shared narrators to get alternate chapters, so was a bit disappointed, although still enjoyed Peachwood's performance

love their story
it's the second time I've listened to this book. I love Dusty and Stone. The only thing which would have made it even better is if the narration was in duet so there would have been more Jason Clarke 🥰😍🤓
