About this listen
From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone in her Everyday Heroes world that proves true love will always stand the test of time.
“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”
Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.
Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.
But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.
What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?
*
I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.
That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.
Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.
I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.
Fall in love with the Malone brothers and the small town of Sunnyville. Each book in the Everyday Heroes series is a complete standalone, but might be better enjoyed listening to them as a series.
Cuffed (Grant and Emerson)
Combust (Grady and Dylan)
Cockpit (Graham and Sidney
Control (Desi and Reznor). A novella.

Emotional, sexy romance
I love friends to lovers dual POV romance, I also love Kristy Bromberg’s writing. Therefore I loved this book. This series follows three brothers, and book 1, ‘Cuffed’ follows the eldest brother Grant Malone (or ‘Officer Sexy’ as some would call him), a Police Officer with a need to protect embedded deep in his soul. He even feels the need to protect at the age of 8 when he does his best to help his best friend Emerson Reeve. Unfortunately circumstances mean that Emmy had to move away. Fast forward 20 years and Emmy’s returned and it would appear that they are going to be more than friends, the question is..........can Emmy ever trust Grant again? An emotional read with lots of humour and sexy time. The narration by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell was perfect.

Emotional, realistic and memorable
A fantastic story with wonderful characters that will touch you in a way that you will remember long after you finished reading
The story line can cause triggers of sexual abuse and broken trust so read with caution. However, in case of the eight boy in this story, breaking the trust of is friend was the best thing for her. a very emotional, realistic and memorable story.

Should come with a trigger warning!!
This wasn’t a bad book. Some of the narration was irritating, but really the biggest issue is that it should come with a trigger warning.

5 Head Up, Wings Out Stars
This was a much more emotional book than I thought it would be. Secondary characters are great & I’m looking forward to Grady and Grayson’s stories.
Grant is a gorgeous hero & Joe Arden reads the character superbly. Took me a while to get into Maxine Mitchell’s style of reading but once I did I enjoyed it. As a heroine, Emmy will break your heart and equally make you want to shake her to see what potential there is for her and Grant. The girl will run when she can but the reasons why are devastating.
Triggers? Yes, domestic abuse, child sexual abuse.
HEA? Yes
Cheating? No.

I really liked it.
I really liked the story and the history between the characters.
It was a little slow to get started, but once the story got flowing, I was invested.

sensitively written about the aftermath of abuse
Rated low - as I struggle with Maxine Mitchell s narration style. I have never liked it, although a lot of people do. she intones uplifts the end of each word or sentence consistently.
However the story still deserves to be listened to and Joe Ardens delivery was great.
Beautiful story of overcoming abuse and the process therein.
