The Fix
My life is a friggin' fairy tale - just not the kind any single girl would ever want to star in.
LANEY:
Like any good heroine, I have challenges to face. Getting my son to wear pants is one; dealing with my snooze-fest of a job is another. Then there's the Beast, my freeloading brother who's worn a permanent dent in the couch at my new place. And no fairytale would be complete without a smoking hot prince, of course. Too bad he's a complete ass.
My instincts scream at me to steer clear of Nate Murphy. Because, if life has taught me anything, there is no such thing as happily ever after.
NATE:
I may not be a superhero, but I do my best to come to the rescue when I'm needed. And, hey, I just moved halfway across the country after a single phone call from my mom. But being back home and taking on the responsibilities involved makes me a bit cranky at times. Unfortunately, the one time I completely lose my cool is in front of the hottest girl I've ever met. I've got my work cut out for me if I'm going to fix this. But I will fix this.
I'll be anything Laney Monroe needs me to be...superhero, a prince, or just a guy she might take a chance on.
The Spark
Mark Beckett is the most annoying, patronizing, arrogant jerk on the face of the earth. So, naturally, I can't get the damn man out of my head.
Fiona:
Like the old saying goes, I'm a jill of all trades but a master of none. What I lack in skill, however, I make up for in enthusiasm - something certain people (ahem) find irritating. But I have my reasons for living my life the way I do, for diving into one project after another and trying to make a difference. And if Mark Beckett doesn't like it, he knows where to find the door. I don't need his approval...or his panty-melting kisses.
Mark:
I enjoy the simple things in life: a job well done, a cold beer, a hot woman...you get the idea. But there's nothing simple about the mess I just found myself in. The last thing I need is a pint-sized princess sticking her nose in my business and pushing every damn one of my buttons like it's her job. But Fiona Pierce may be the only one with the tools to solve my problems--and the power to change everything.

Lol
This one made me laugh out loud so many times. I loved the characters and the situations that they found themselves in. I loved both of the characters and how relatable so much of the story is while also being over the top in such a fantastic way both deserve 5 stars

Two hilarious and sexy stories
The Fix
Narrated by: Alice Wander
The female narrator, Alice Wander, did a magnificent job to the point that I soon forgot that she was playing both parts. While she didn’t go full-on, deep man voice, she definitely pitched a different tone when voicing Nate than she did with Laney. Furthermore, she affected a different drawl or manner of speaking when speaking as other characters - Gavin (Laney’s brother) for example, and also as Rocco. It was entertaining, easy to follow and really compelling.
I loved both Laney and Nate, and as a couple they were all kinds of delightful. That’s not to say there’s not shenanigans, but I felt it was sweet with heat and was always there to move the story forward rather than just gratuitous. It was all nicely satisfying.
I mentioned that the characters were funny but the whole storyline was, too. It’s a fairly simple tale - no angst or great obstacles to overcome - but the writing and comedy made it a well-rounded story that I kept on coming back to and wanting to listen to as much as I possibly could each time.
All in all, I really enjoyed every aspect of this book - the story, the characters, the narration and the feelings it inspired. A really good start to what’s bound to be a great romcom series and a book I’d happily recommend. 5 stars.

The Spark
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling and David Black
This might be the last of Sylvie Stewart’s books that I listen to while out in public, because this book was beyond hilarious.
Fiona is a hoot and a half. She’s got such a quirky and fun personality and she shares that with us, warts and all. Amanda Stribling had the enthusiasm to match Fiona’s and she definitely acted her part rather than just reading it.
Mark was a lovely character, too, and David Black’s definitely got the perfect voice for the role. Again, he acts rather than just reads - and he’s got definitely got a naughty little smirk in his voice that was pure Mark for me.
The first part of the book is definitely about setting the scene, but it’s when Mark and Fiona go on the road trip and start to spend more and more time together that the book really begins to shine. I adore them as a pairing as they really do complement and complete each other. They have a good time together, they bicker and argue and they also are incredibly attracted to each other - so yes, there’s sex within. It’s definitely hot but, again, it’s perfect for Fiona and Mark as a couple with much humour included.
This book was a delightfully good time and I’m happy to have found a new author to binge. This was a truly funny romcom with a couple I really liked and rooted for. I enjoyed every minute of listening to this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a romance that’s funny, sexy yet also has depth. Definitely 5 stars from me.

5 stars just isn't enough
Little spitfire Fiona and manwhore Mark certainly spark each other the wrong way in this hilarious romcom. Well done Sylvie you've really outdone yourself with this story. Enjoyed the interaction between all of the characters as well as the background storyline. The narrators did an amazing job of bringing all the characters to life and I highly recommend this whole series. Looking forward to the next instalment (Bailey and Jake)

Cute with humor
Enjoyed this dual rom-com by Sylvie Stewart. Laney and Nate got a rough start but perfect couple. Laney has had a tough few years and Nate has come home to help the family. Together they find their happiness. Fiona and Mark have a great back and forth banter. Fiona is a 5 foot ball of fire and she knocks Mark for a loop.
The narrators were pretty good. For the first book it was just one doing all characters and I'll admit I struggled at times to know which one she was reading for. Book two had dual narrations which made it easier to follow.

Fun
The Fix
What a fun story with the perfect amount of sweet & sarcasm. I loved this single mom love story and can’t wait to read about the rest of the crew. I just love Nate & Lainy, and of course little Rocco!
The Spark
This was so fun! I absolutely adore Fiona and her spunky attitude. She’s so little and fierce!
Mark is such a genuine good guy, and we really get to see that in this book!
Plus we still get some Nate and Lainy!

Two great Romcoms to enjoy!
The Fix - Carolina Connections Book #1
Single mom Romcom
Loved this story as well as the characters, and especially little Rocco!
Laney is a struggling single mom, has a lovely son and a brother who lives at her house. Lucky for her she meets Nate, who’s temporarily in charge of his dad’s building company.
Narrator Alice Wander did a good job.
The Spark - Carolina Connections Book #2
Enemies to Lovers Romcom
I loved Fiona & Mark together. And I really had to laugh out loud a couple of times. Fiona’s inner dialogue cracked me up!
I really liked the narrators (Amanda Stribling and David Black). They did a great job bringing the story alive!

Cozy Rom Com
Laney is a single mom doing her thing. Nate gets a call and returns home. A quirky drama free rom-com, great for a lazy day. Laughed quite a bit. I enjoyed reading this light read story. Nate is a total book boyfriend material.
Book 2 was just as good if not better. It was great watching the characters grow. once again, I was laughing out loud and couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to continuing the interconnected series. The Narrators were knew to me but did bring the characters to life.
