Summary
Heartless. Ruthless. Stone-cold killer.
That's me. I destroy anything in my path to get what I want.
Then she showed up. Olivia Bell. She's sweet and innocent and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now she's mine. My property. I own her. Given to me as a bargaining chip.
She's not a part of my plans, but plans change. Her pouty lips and gorgeous curves beg me to break her. Taking her lush, curvy body and ravaging it for all it's worth would be easy, but I want to earn her submission. It's addictive. I want it. I want her.
They wanted me to break her. I am. And I'm enjoying it. Now they want to take her from me.
Over my dead body.
Let them come for us. I'll kill them all.
By the time I'm done, everyone will know. She belongs to me.
This is a dark romance. A full-length stand-alone novel with HEA.

Amazing!
SPOILERS
I'm normally not into dark romance. But I decided to get this book because I was looking for a unique story and not your typical tropes.
And WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW 😮👏🏻
This book totally BLEW MY MIND. The writing, the story, the twists, the ending... I'm SO DONE FOR. I love their story!!!
Wrong place at the wrong time, and damn what that can lead to. She is a witness to a murder and it's a choice between death and working as a "sex slave". Hard words, but the man who actually saves her tries to protect her the best he can, without blowing his cover that he's actually a cop!
I would've wished for a few more details within the storyline. What happened to the other women working there? How did Olivia and Kade finally got to know each other after finding their way back to each other? How did her friends and family take it? Normally this would result in only 4 stars from me, but this book is so unique, I'm pretty sure you won't find a book like this out there.
Given the circumstances, it felt pretty realistic and the fact that Kade was in there undercover and always tried to protect her from day 1 made that story very special to me.
I'm not a big fan of BDSM or dark romance as such, but you should know what you're getting yourself into with this book. This is no friends to lovers trope or whatever and that's what makes it special in my opinion.
Will definitely check out more books by Willow Winters now.
Last, not least: what an amazing performance by Muffy Newtown who narrated most of this book and also Jacob Morgan. There's a reason they're one of the best out there, I couldn't have imagined anyone else bringing these characters to life!
Wish there was a PREQUEL to this story!!

DARK AND TWISTED
A dark and somewhat twisted story. This novel ended up going on a different journey from what I expected, and was much more than I was hoping it to be. Olivia was a great character, despite everything that happened to her, she overcame and survived. Kane was a morally dubious grey colour. He was definitely in a conflicted situation for most of the book, but seemingly he had no will to resist the darkness.
A steamy read in places, this book will push a reader out of their comfort zone for sure, and is definitely in the dark category for a reason.
I enjoyed the narrated book. I thought the dual narration worked really well.

A GREAT ALL-ROUNDER OF A DIFFERENT KIND
Willow has out shone herself between under-cover cop Chance & eye witness of the murder Chance had to do with the understanding of his second so they can bring down the kidnappers of young girls to sell them off to become victims of molesters & a lot deeper.
So Cade took Olivia & be the one to Break Her to become his Submissive & who they plan to sell on, but oh Cade has a completely different scenario than what the others have for her.
Olivia tries to have no regard to him or the others.
But heck you will see how HOT & LOVING Cade & Olivia's story joins together in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY.....💗

Wish I didn't waste my credit
Potential spoilers...
I'm currently on chapter 15 and have decided I can't endure any more of this book, despite my love for Jacob Morgan, which was the reason I picked this up in the first place. My two stars are solely for him.
So far in the 15 chapters, I think he's only been in one of them and it wasn't a very long one.
This book definitely could have done with duet narration as I didn't really enjoy the male voice which the female narrator put on.
I have issues with the story (so far), not because of the BDSM themes or captivity/Stockholm syndrome nature of the story, I have no problems with dark romance. It's the lack of character development or insight into the characters.
Olivia finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and ends up being Kade's captive where he trains her to become a sex slave. Olivia, to me, is very whiny and weak. She seems to be attracted to Kade pretty much as soon as she's been captured by him in the immensely short space of time of say a day or two? So she clearly is attracted to him by appearance alone. She tries to fight at first but then she seems to give up pretty quickly. She says she's scared of Kade but as soon as he touches her, she tells you that her apprehension eases...I mean I'm no expert in Stockholm syndrome but don't they need to spend some time together first for the captive to start developing feelings for the captor? Also, there'd be some sort of emotional/mind manipulation??
Kade calls her his "angel" pretty much straight away and I can't really figure out why apart from the fact that we're told she wore a white sweater the day she was captured. That's not really a strong enough point for me to believe her to be his angel.
