About this listen
Twenty-two-year-old Brett attends a BDSM camp in Galway to act as a model for Sean in BDSM scenes at the camp. Brett hopes to find a Dom, but Sean seems to have other ideas. All Brett wants to do is please Sean, so he’ll collar him as his sub.
At the camp, Brett meets Master Cleary and his two subs, Jack and Kevin (Irish Runaway Series) and they become friends. When Brett makes a dangerous decision, nothing goes as planned and he needs the help of these new friends as he learns a lesson about real Doms versus imposter ones.
This book is a prequel to the upcoming Irish Collar Series. It bridges the Irish Runaway Series and the Irish Collar Series.
To follow Brett’s journey toward finding a Dom, listen to Broken Trust, Book 1 in the Irish Collar Series.

Short and Interesting
BDSM Camp is the prequel to the Irish Collar series so it feels a little unfinished. I felt very invested in Brett’s safety and happiness, and the way the novella ended left all that up in the air. It was a good start for the series because I am interested in the characters. Since Broken Trust, the first book in the Irish Collar series isn’t on Audible yet, I’m going to go back and listen to the Irish Runaway Series bundle since the Irish Runaway series is connected to the Irish Collar series.
The audiobook narration was well done and enjoyable. I was able to finish the book in an afternoon and enjoyed listening to it.

Prequal to Irish Collar
I would have been shouting at the TV nonstop if this had been a TV film.
But seeing as it was a book and the characters couldn't hear me, I kept quiet. But I needed Sean to back off and leave Brett alone, and I wanted Brett to run away.
The writing was so good that I got ever so emotional over and over again. This is the seedier side of BDSM with pretend Doms who don't mind endangering their subs, but we also meet Master Cleary again. If you've read Brina's back catalogue, you will have met Master Cleary and his boys, again a brilliant book if you haven't read it.
I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
The narration by James Talbot in my opinion is very slow, so I have to speed up the book to 1.35 on audible, saying that though, I love how he does the different voices, its just a speed issue for my ears.

Amazing characters and performance
Brett is one of Brina Brady's most vividly drawn characters. His life has been empty of love or caring and his need for that bleeds off the page. I felt it when I read the book, but listening to Brett veer from hopeful about Sean, to devastated by his cruelty, to hear what a different person he is with Master Cleary, Kevin and Jack and how he wonders at the relationship they have and their kindness to him as performed by James Talbot will rip your heart out in a different way. Ah, Sean...As this is the prequel to Brady's new Irish Collar series all I can say is I cannot wait for three things with the first book of that series. First, I want Brett to find his perfect loving Dom, then I want Sean to get everything that's coming to him and then I want to hear all that performed by James Talbot. Grab this one and meet these wonderful characters.
