About this listen
Twenty years ago seven students became friends at their exclusive private school, Potter's Field. Now they have started dying in the most violent way imaginable. Detective Max Wolfe follows the bloody trail from the backstreets and bright lights of the city, to the darkest corners of the corridors of power. As the bodies pile up, Max finds he is fighting not only for justice, but for his own life....
The gripping first novel in an explosive new crime series by Tony Parsons, bestselling author of Man and Boy. If you like crime-novels by Ian Rankin and Peter James, you will love this.

Fantastic story, excellently acted/read, wonderfully written! Steamed through this and already downloaded the next one !! Who doesn’t like a flawed main character and a whodunnit!!

A great crime fiction story
This is a great story with a nice ending twist. The narrator is excellent, and does a convincing job of different voices. I can't wait to 'read' the next book in the series. Well written and nicely constructed story, that not only focuses on the crime, but also the detective's personal life. More please!

A typical crime thriller
Would you try another book written by Tony Parsons or narrated by Colin Mace?
I would read another Tony Parsons book but I didn't really like Colin Mace as a voice performer
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It was rather predictable and the violence was very graphic
Would you listen to another book narrated by Colin Mace?
No, I didn't think he was able to perform many different characters very well and he kept swallowing really loudly
Could you see The Murder Bag being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
I expect so - it's a typical Jason Statham/Vinnie Jones sort of character.
Any additional comments?
It was reasonably enjoyable, but I think I would have preferred to read the book!

Parsons at his best
Would you consider the audio edition of The Murder Bag to be better than the print version?
This is my first Audible listen and I found it difficult to stop listening. A fab story and though Colin Mace was narrating it was Parsons' voice I could hear. Some great lines which occasionally made me laugh out loud.

Great story
I'd had this in my library for a while. I finally got around it listening to it and was pleasantly surprised. I guessed a few things ut it was still riveting until the end.

I enjoyed this book. - but a bit long winded
tried to have too many twists and back stories - therefore becoming too far fetched - how many near death experience and threats can a man have? too much of his personal life. Story line is very relevant and unfortunately believable.
