About this listen

The phone rings. It's your daughter. She's been dead for four months. So begins East Texas police dispatcher Ian Hunt's fight to get his daughter back. The call is cut off by the man who snatched her from her bedroom seven years ago, and a basic description of the kidnapper is all Ian has to go on.

It was okay

It’s a good, captivating story. The narration is not the best (to say the least) and I had to talk myself into not quitting several times purely because of the narrator monotone sentences.

Brilliantly read

The storyline and dry tone of narrator kept me gripped from beginning to end. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Totally different

From my usual genre. But I heard the narrator + recognised him from Jack Reacher books. I love his voice, the style in which he reads. I'm not sure he sold me the book. But I liked the characters, they were visible +believable. I also liked the end on a high note without it dragging into obvious consequences to follow. Strangely I didn't feel there were loose ends which normally drive me bonkers. I'd recommend it as an book that holds up its end well!

Wasn’t sure at first but loved it!

I started this book and thought straight away I wasn’t sure whether to carry on. So glad I did, I really enjoyed the story and the narrator was great for this book too. Will be looking for more books by this author

if you like Reacher, you'd like this

The story was ok, although the procedural aspects were completely wrong. The human side was good, but overall it was too long

I love it, was a damned good story

good old justice, must confess I have half an hour left, but I can tell that the ending will be either tragic or fairytale happy ending, either way I was convinced to comment, because I've loved every minute.

Average thriller novel

Fairly standard thriller novel, story goes about as you'd expect it to. Performance middling I found the narrator's cadence somewhat annoying.
