Story
For one-woman crime wave Violet Winters, stealing is as natural as breathing. When she’s offered the heist of a lifetime, she barely hesitates before agreeing. Unfortunately, taking this job means returning to the city she once called home. And Kilchester is a city so rotten, it hasn’t just spoiled the whole barrel, it’s turned the contents to cider and sold it to schoolchildren. Which can mean only one thing - a smorgasbord of trouble.

Story
I'm stumbling around with no memory, no idea who I am, or how I came into existence. I mean, I know my life didn't just start. The pain in my ankle and arm tells me something happened, perhaps something terrible. If only I could remember. This planet is magical or cursed. I'm not sure which. Things appear and disappear before my eyes, terrifying monsters trying to devour me. I'm alone and frightened. And then I stumble upon them: three delicious-looking guys with hard bodies. They strip naked, transforming into powerful animals like prehistoric wolves.

This sublime collection dips into the wit and wisdom of the man behind The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, uncovering his unique comic musings on everything from his school-trousers to malt whisky and from the letter Y through to his own nose, via atheism, hangovers and fried eggs. These hilarious collected writings reveal the warmth, enthusiasm and ferocious intelligence behind this most English of comic writers; a man who was virtually an unofficial member of the Monty Python team.

Story
A damaged man is incapable of love because he does not believe love will be freely given, only earned through works. He seeks false intimacy in lust and mistakes sex for acceptance. These men seek insecure women who believe themselves unlovable and who use sex to earn approval. When these couples enter into marriage, unmet needs and secret expectations pile up until the relationship is full of festering resentment. Along come children who add greater urgency to fixing the emotional damage. But with no hope in sight, what can the couples do except march toward inevitable divorce?

Bingo Sac Grabbins is asked by the coughing wizard Gandef and some (oddly Welsh) dwarves to help them relieve the great dragon Smug of his gold.SF author and Tolkien scholar Adam Roberts has written a parody that is both hilarious and intelligent. With knowing digs at the fantasy genre in general and the mystique that has built around middle earth in particular this will make Tolkien's 21st century readers laugh in a way that Bored of the Rings made his fans of 1969 laugh.
