Sister Bea was born in Ireland and came to Southern California in 1964 This talk is very lighthearted and funny, but there is a very powerful message at the heart of the retrospective humor. She discovered Margaritas when a marvelous host prepared them for her and the sisters at an outing. Right from the start, she did not drink like other people, especially the other sisters. How her alcoholism progressed, and then how she found AA.

Since he was a young boy, Joe Balzer dreamed of flying. He pursued his goal with passion and earned his pilot licenses, piling up hours of flight time with a wide variety of planes and jets with one overarching goal: to one day fly for a major airline. But Joe had a problem. He was an alcoholic and refused to admit to himself that he had a problem. His alcoholism caught up with him in March 1990, when Joe was arrested with two other pilots for flying a commercial airliner while under the influence of alcohol.

Marty Mann The first woman to get sober in Alcoholics Anonymous tells her story in a 1968 talk at San Francisco, CA. This is the best example of Marty Mann recovery story I have heard. The sound quality is very good, which is unusual for a 1968 AA recording. Great audiobook about recovery - historic and enjoyable. Marty was the first woman to achieve lasting sobriety in AA, founder of National Council on Alcoholism, author of at least two books on alcoholism, author of AA's The Big Book story "Women Suffer, Too", and co-founder of The AA Grapevine.

This was a momentous occasion. First, Bill officially transfers the leadership of AA to the General Service Conference. Then he introduces Lois, who speaks for almost 10 minutes. Then Bill Introduces Ebby who speaks briefly. And then Bill Introduces Sister Ignatia. She says some nice things and invokes God's blessing on AA and everyone AA touches. Bill Tells his story and the story of AA from the beginning.

This is recovery in Alanon. Mary Pearl T is a hoot with a powerful recovery message. She tells lots of great stories showing how alcoholism in others made her very ill. How she got well in Alanon. How she repaired her relationship with her mother by making amends. Some stories about getting active in Alanon service and sponsorship. This is a very high quality recovery message. Enjoyable, funny, and very helpful.

Lois Wilson Shares About the 12 Traditions Lois Wilson, founder of Alanon and wife of AA Co-Founder Bill Wilson, shares about each of the Twelve Traditions. From the Recording. So, when finally Alanon came into being, we had the Twelve Traditions all set up for us. In fact, that's been our experience right from the beginning. And we've grown so fast primarily because we've just followed AA's footsteps.

Today, millions of Americans are struggling with alcoholism, but millions are also in long-term recovery. The history of AA is talked about as the spiritual roots of AA. They talk about sponsorship and taking the steps. There are lots of stories and experiences in the fellowship.
