In the Bible, the Book of Revelation is often considered a book about events that will take place in our future. The Beast will come, the number 666 will happen, etc. What is often overlooked, however, is that Jesus gave the contents of Revelation to John in about 95 AD. So everything written in the book was future to that time period, future to 95 AD.

No other passages in scripture have been more talked about in end-time Bible prophecy than those dealing with the mark of the Beast. It states: "Here is wisdom, let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: his number is 666."
