  • Ep 60: Season 2 Conclusions (Part 1)
    Nov 6 2024
During this season 2 of Solving JFK, we set out to answer the question “Who was Lee Harvey Oswald, really?” Like everything else in the JFK Assassination, to answer that question, we have to address multiple sub-questions, most of which have inconsistent evidence and disputed answers. In part 1 of this season 2 conclusion episode, we look back at the body of evidence that was covered over the last 32 episodes to try to provide an answer to some of the most important questions about the life of Lee Harvey Oswald?

In this episode, we answer these questions:
    1. When did Oswald begin to express an interest in Marxism? And was his interest genuine?
    2. When did Oswald learn to speak Russian and how fluent was he?
    3. When Oswald went to the Soviet Union was he a bona fide defector who wanted to experience Soviet Russia or was he a false defector sent on behalf of an intelligence agency?
    4. What was George de Mohrenschildt’s role in Oswald’s life?
    5. Did Oswald work with Guy Banister in New Orleans?
    6. Did Oswald travel to Jackson and Clinton, Louisiana with David Ferrie and Clay Shaw?
    7. Is Jim Garrison’s story about Oswald meeting with David Ferrie and Clay Shaw to plan a conspiracy to kill Kennedy true?

  • Ep 59: Foreknowledge
    Oct 16 2024
There are a few instances, some more well known than others, of people seemingly having foreknowledge of the JFK Assassination – meaning that they knew that President Kennedy would be killed before it happened. As we look at these cases, the big questions are whether the alleged foreknowledge was specific and whether the claims about the person having that information are credible.

One recently declassified document hinted at such foreknowledge. It was a letter from CIA counterintelligence chief James Angleton to FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover. This memo says that an anonymous caller to a Cambridge, England newspaper said that the reporter should QUOTE “call the American Embassy in London for some big news.” The caller then hung up. What is notable about this call is that it was 25 minutes before President Kennedy was shot in Dallas. It wasn’t specifically about President Kennedy, though the timing is close enough to make that inference.

In this episode, we look at 6 more instances of reported foreknowledge of the JFK assassination, including Joseph Milteer, Eugene B. Dinkin, David Christensen, William Walter, Rose Cherami, and Richard Case Nagell.

  • Ep 58: Oswald Impersonations, Fall 1963
    Oct 9 2024
Over the course of this season 2 of Solving JFK, a recurring theme that we’ve seen is the impersonation of Lee Harvey Oswald. It’s one thing for a witness to say that they saw a guy who they thought looked identical to Oswald when we know that Oswald could not have been there.

Witnesses are often incorrect about recollections of what they saw, especially what someone looked like. But, that’s not the situation for the impersonations of Oswald that we’ve seen so far. In many cases, the witnesses said that the man they identified as Oswald provided extra details to make it clear that, if he wasn’t really Oswald, he was trying to make people think that he was. When we talk about Oswald impersonations, what we mean is people believing the man they saw looked like Oswald combined with some unique identifying fact consistent with Oswald’s life, like, for example, an ID card, his service in the Marines, or his time in the Soviet Union.

In this episode, we look at the many impersonations of Oswald in the Fall of 1963. Is there enough evidence to conclude that Lee Harvey Oswald was being impersonated? And if there is, what are the implications?

  • Ep 57: The Paines
    Sep 25 2024
In this episode, we first look at a mysterious package sent to Oswald at the Paine home. Then, we turn to the actions of Ruth and Michael Paine after the assassination of President Kennedy, before summarizing the evidence provided by the Paines to incriminate Lee Harvey Oswald. Was Ruth Paine a misunderstood good Samaritan, or was she a key participant in the cover up of the crime of the 21st century?

Note: This episode erroneously states that Mary Bancroft was a CIA agent. That is incorrect. However, she did work for the CIA's predecessor, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).
