  • Nox, the name that invaded my mind today and wouldn't leave. It felt so faint, but so familiar, like I had never said it before but a million times simultaneously. Like an old friend I hadn't seen in a decade, the absence hadn't dulled the warmth those three letters summoned inside me. Apprehension stiffened the muscles in my thumb as I tried to press play on the remote, but why?

    I knew that to be true.


    Because of course he wasn't real.


    The truth was a scary thing, something I wasn't too fond of. But curses and witches were definitely not included in the truth, so why did I hesitate?

    The truth was far worse than that.
