This is the first in a series of "Christmas Spirit" books that introduces us to the magic of Christmas and the people of Winstanton. Natalie Hope has arrived to provide cover for a local cafe and her impact is transformative.

I love Eilidh Beaton bringing this story to life - her Scottish accent is perfect for this book and she draws the listener in as if you are sat in the cafe watching the characters themselves.

The descriptions really bring the story alive - all the delicious treats Sugar and Spice bakery and cafe sell, and gives you a connection with the characters.

Having read all the books in this
series, I really enjoyed revisiting where it all began for the residents of Winstanton via audiobook. This book lays a strong foundation for the whole series whilst also being a great story by itself.

If you are looking for a positive, gentle and heartwarming story to get you in the festive mood, something to listen to while you do your Christmas prep, this is the one for you!

This is a lovely book, following the story of various people living in a small town of Wincanton all of who have lost their way a little. Natalie steps in to help run the bakery while the owner recovers from an operation, As she meets each of the characters, a bond is formed and in her gentle way she guides each of the ones who need a little help to see new possibilities and embrace a little Christmas spirit along the way.
This is a perfect book for those days leading up to Christmas when you need a break form the rush and bustle of Christmas preparations. You will all in love with each of the people Natalie takes under her wing. Grab your earbuds, a quite spot and curl up an listen, you will love it. I read the book first and loved it , having listened to the audio version the characters took on a who new life and I picked up on bits I missed when I read it.
