She found magic in the most unlikely of places.

A cosy, heartwarming, and uplifting magical romance about an isolated witch whose opportunity to embrace a quirky new family - and a new love - changes the course of her life.

As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon has lived her life by three rules: hide your magic, keep your head down, and stay away from other witches. An orphan raised by strangers from a young age, Mika is good at being alone, and she doesn't mind it . . . mostly.

But then an unexpected message arrives, begging her to travel to the remote and mysterious Nowhere House to teach three young witches, and Mika jumps at the chance for a different life.

Nowhere House is nothing like she expects, and she's quickly tangled up in the lives and secrets of its quirky, caring inhabitants . . . and Jamie, the handsome, prickly librarian who would do anything to protect his charges, and who sees Mika's arrival as a threat. An irritatingly appealing threat.

As Mika finds her feet, the thought of belonging somewhere starts to feel like a real possibility. But magic isn't the only danger in the world, and soon Mika will need to decide whether to risk everything to protect the found family she didn't know she was looking for . . .

Like the perfect cup of tea on a rainy day: cosy and comforting, with just the right amount of steam. I wanted to curl up in its pages and never leave. Found-family is my weakness, and Mandanna has written this one flawlessly - I fell for every one of these characters the moment they appeared, and loved the way themes of belonging and identity are woven through their relationships in a way that won't fail to warm your heart. This is Mandanna's best book yet!

At the end of every book the man says, "Audible hopes you've enjoyed this program."

Well, I can honestly say that this time I absolutely did. I don't think I've given all the stars before!

It contains trauma, it contains sadness, cruelty and ignorance, but in the best way, because they are challenged and... No, I won't spoil the end.

This book is about witches and growing up, the difference between nice and kind, about building walls and breaking them down, about my countryside and places I know. You've visited my North Norfolk Sangu - I hope you enjoyed its simplistic beauty as much as I do each day. I hope too you enjoyed the City, I hope you found it a place where people are welcomed. I've travelled around the UK and I may well be biased, but Norwich is a positive place for people who are different, no one bats an eyelid at gender, clothing, race, magic tricks or outsiders any more - they younger at least do not. The sticks are very different.

I'm not sure if you made up the book shop or combined my favourites, but the inclusion made the book more real to me.

You've created a world on top of the one that is seen, a translucent layer of imagination atop a concrete land, or maybe you have shown the truth that we kept secret so long?

To rebuild the wards you will need the tincture of the "Merry dancers" , you can see them from Morston Quay, not far from Nowhere house. You need to take the 3 young witches there and meet Jim who shoots the aurora from the lighthouse at Happisburgh, they could make excellent magic there.

There is definitely a Nowhere... Shhhh!

If you are wondering if you should read this book, I would grade it as 10/10 and I'm 12x9 so I have read many books in my time.

Take a wander into Deepest Norfolk, your story guided by a confident hand, let the magic flow...

Suitable for young adults, to those aged 108, 14 upwards I'd say both male female or otherwise, but you know your teen better than I.

Thank you Sangu for keeping me company for the last few days with your witchy tale.

We look forward to your return to Norfolk.

You can't leave a spell unfixed after all...

This book is a real feel good, heart warming and uplifting novel. Set in Britain, where witches must follow strict set of rules and can not meet often, they are also always orphans and must hide their magic. Mika is out positive, powerful ray of sunshine witch who became a kind of governess for 3 young witches in order to help them control their magic. She finds herself in this beautiful house with some really kind and warm people, plus a grumpy gorgeous man and the 3 interesting girls. They all offer her a chance to be part of a family and we follow the magic lessons and the relationships between them develop and flourish.
The romance isn't the focus here but we do get a very slow burn one with a sprinkle of spice right at the end. The love and affection between all who live in the house is the main focus here, and the magic, of course. There some funny moments too. But I absolutely loved the magic. However, be aware that it can be a bit slow at times as there are many pages with the day-day routine and details about magic spells, etc. Still a loved those too.
Free on KU, but I also bought the audio book because I love British narrators.
The narration is excellent, she made it easy to identify all the different characters and her voice is just lovely.

Overall I really enjoyed this story, most of all because of how it was narrated. The characters were quite delightful too. I didn't care much about the love story, that was honestly my least favourite part - just too loaded with tropes and overused expressions, too much "His jaw tightened" and lines about "his silvery eyes" etc. etc. but hey, that's just me. There was one particular moment in the story towards the end where I just couldn't believe the way 3 of the main characters acted. Yes, they're children but they behaved in a completely irresponsible way that was absolutely not in character, especially not for the oldest of the 3. That part of the story I found a bit bewildering but there were some satisfying twists too. All in all, a cosy little adventure, wonderfully narrated.
