Summary

Things are not well within the Lodrak Empire. An entire city goes up in smoke and ash, and an entire province is slowly being consumed by an ever-expanding cloud of death.

But while the humans rally to contain the fallout of this disaster, they are much quicker to pin the blame for it on their elven neighbors to the north. With centuries' worth of strife and bad blood between the two nations flaring up, all out war is rapidly becoming an inevitability.

Powerful figures are already on the move. Some wish to unravel the mystery behind the dead city in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. Others are more than content enough to use this "act of terrorism" as an excuse to further the Empire's agenda. A select few are even planning on somehow turning this cataclysm into a weapon for the sake of their ambitions. The elves of the Ishigar Republic are hard at work undermining and sabotaging their old enemy, while the international community watches the ongoing situation with a critical eye. Even the Gods themselves are closely monitoring the situation, ready to intervene should they deem it necessary.

However, though all these entities have different reasons and methods, they all have the same objective - to find the mastermind responsible for setting all this in motion.

The same "mastermind" that is far too busy figuring out how wagons work to notice the world is stirring.

So funny I let out a little bit of wee...

another great book by a funny Iliev and excellent narration. Don't expect a serious story but do enjoy!

Wearing thin.

Ok, we're about 15 hours into our time with these characters and all they do is have really badly described sex.
I kind of feel the author wanted it to be like a soft Porn story but it totally fails to be either arousing or shocking.
I'd hoped it'd be toned down in book 2 but sadly not.

Enjoyable if you can look past the filth.

Jeff Hays performance is excellent, and truly makes the story come to life. Voices remain consistent throughout, with male, female and monster characters all sounding authentic.

The story of Boxxie continues in the shapeshifters inevitable style. It is unfortunate that Neven Iliev feels it necessary to include sordid misogynistic scenes, which do little for the story. They will appeal to a certain target audience admittedly, but at the expense of alienating a large proportion of potential readers. This is a shame, as the author has many excellent ideas, and puts them together in an interesting and well told format. Compared to the previous titles in this series, the scenes are less frequent.

Well worth listening to - if you are able to look past the fantasies of a pubescent teen.

8hrs of filler with two hours of story progression

I enjoyed the first book in the series so was excited to see the second one available.

Only to be disappointed.

The dark comedy and character progression of the first book is sadly lacking here and this book merely serves as a setup for the rest of the story arc. It is clear the author has a vision for where this is going but to wallow in pointless details for four fifths of the book, where I honestly couldn't tell you what if anything happened to further the story line interspersed by some weird demon fetish sex, only to rush some extended story hooks for the next book in the last fifth is just a bit self indulgent.

The world that the author is building and the story he is telling is compelling and hopefully the next book will bring this to fruition, it is just frustrating to not hear more of the story and less of a full chapter on wheel manufacture..

Jeff Hayes performance as always is solid and he does well with the material but he can only perform what he has and some of this feels like a waste of his talent.

Super Tasty

I love this series and no, I don't care that it's a bit pornographic - it's funny, the concept is clever and all told, it's a lot of fun and super tasty.

Fizzlesprocket

A work of total genius. Genuine laugh out loud moments. A cast of truly haphazard characters, a plot line that is as straight as straight ad the flight of a bumble bee. The narration is some of the best I have head. I thoroughly recommended you give this a try.
