The event took place at Picturehouse Central, London, from 6th to the 9th July. Bringing Utah's finest independent film fest straight to London, the event is a magnificent celebration of all things independent film. Audible was thrilled to build on our existing partnership with the festival in the US and celebrating our shared love of all things storytelling with Sundance London.
Our sponsorship across the event spanned a number of exciting activations.
The Picturehouse Central Members bar became The Storyteller’s Bar, to create an immersive listening experience for both the public and industry. This included ‘Sound Showers’ enabled attendees to deep dive into three of our titles: The Little Mermaid, Oliver Twist and Educating Daisy, ‘Listening Tables’ where attendees could whisk themselves away by listening to an array of Dolby Atmos, Original titles as well as a ‘Listening Nook’ with Dolby Atmos which created an at home listening experience.
We also hosted two panel discussions to promote our love of all things storytelling. Audible’s Clare Chadburn, and RAW, the multi-award-winning film & TV production company behind films such as The Imposter and Three Identical Strangers, discussed how podcasting can create more depth and open up new opportunities in documentary storytelling. In addition we presented the Finding My Voice panel where emerging filmmakers, Molly Manning Walker (cinematographer of Scrapper); Nida Manzoor (writer/director of Polite Society and We Are Lady Parts); Adura Onashile (writer/director of Girl); Celine Song (writer/director of Past Lives), talked about developing their storytelling approach while making their debut feature films and how they see their storytelling perspectives evolving in the future.
