  • Summary

  • The first female youth cult of modern times means a revolution in hair, shockingly short skirts and yes, more dancing.

But what about the ‘unflappable’ women who became professionals and politicians, thanks to the change in female status brought about during the war? Meet the controversial woman who pioneered female policing, but rather overdid it.

Struggling for wider relevance

I wanted to listen to this writing to learn more about the era in which it is titled. I am a reasonably educated person reasonably disappointed as it becomes disproportionately egocentric about homosexuality, rather than about so many more interesting aspects of a world in recovery and the incredible invention of a re-establishing society at that time.
I generally have a focus and enjoy listening to psychological, scientific, and military history, so I am not without endurance, but the narrow bandwidth of this audiobook unnecessarily lost my interest with some ease.
