Summary

Swashbuckling classic adventure, with an updated twist placing Milady in the role of narrator.

Young D'Artagnan arrives in Paris to join the King's elite guards but almost immediately finds he is duelling with some of the very men he has come to swear allegiance to - Porthos, Athos and Aramis, inseparable friends: the Three Musketeers.

Soon part of their close band, D'Artagnan's loyalty to his new allies puts him in the deadly path of Cardinal Richlieu's machinations. And when the young hero falls in love with the beautiful but inaccessible Constance, he finds himself in a world of murder, conspiracy and lies, with only the Musketeers to depend on.

Featuring: Ian Abeysekera, David Ahmad, Rachel Atkins, Catherine Bailey, Ed Barry, Timothy Bentinck, Nicholas Boulton, Eliza Butterworth, Gunnar Cauthery, Stephen Critchlow, Adetomiwa Edun, William Ellis, Betsabeh Emran, Tony Gardner, Matt Gavan, Akin Gazi, Pete Gold, Colm Gormley, Chris Grahamson, Edward Harrison, David Holt, Will Howard, Frances Jeater, James MacCallum, Joel MacCormack, Roger May, Richard Morse, Harry Myers, Daniel Naddafy, James Parkes, Richard Reed, John Scougall, Lizzie Stables, Dan Starkey, Mark Straker, Timothy Watson, Ben Whitehead, Sarah Whitehouse and Hemi Yeroham.

Fantastic dramatisation of this classic...

What a superb dramatisation of Alexandre Dumas' classic.
A great story retold beautifully, with some fantastic acting alongside perfectly placed sound effects and music to really do justice to such a wonderful tale.
On this occasion, the story is retold by Milady de Winter, providing a novel twist to the tale.
I've really enjoyed Audible's dramatisations, and The Three Musketeers is truly an exceptional addition to the collection.

The Three Musketeers

It was an easy listen, good fun and the voice actors were very good , especially Sarah Whitehouse as M’lady .
I do wish I’d listened to the actual novel though , as it seems some modern woke attitudes had been inserted into the story , regarding M’Lady. I’m not sure there would have been much sympathy for the deadly harlot in the original .
A bit of a strange ending too.. well worth a listen tho , I did enjoy it .

Excellent dramatization

I was completely taken aback by the excellent quality of the Audible dramatization of this classic. It's one of the very best I have listened to. The different narrators, the background sounds all combine to provide an amazing listening experience that brings this classic book to life in an amazing way.
Highly recommended.

Radio drama experience

Definitely not a reading of the original book for anyone mistaking it. It is however enjoyable radio drama like reading with good actors, effects and an emphasis on light and humor parts of the well known story.

very high production values

loved the production values, I liked the flawed characters, although the main character sexually assaulting a woman didn't sit right with me.

Hear the woman …

This is such a brilliant adaption of a book I have read several
Times and loved. Yet, despite that reading, I have never heard so clearly the oppression and fury of a woman wronged. It doesn’t justify what she did but it does ask serious questions about morality, heritage and male privilege and weakness at every level. Excellent! Well done everyone xxx 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
