Summary

A reckless princess. An enemy kingdom. And a mistake that could cost her everything.

Princess Rowan thought she knew her place in the world.

She never expected to feel like an outsider.

She certainly never imagined she would fall in love, least of all with a man from a barbarian kingdom half a world away.

But when series of missteps lands her in the hands of the people she was brought up to hate, she is forced to reconsider everything she thought she knew about both lands.

And about herself.

After a lifetime of animosity between the kingdoms, will the Socairans ever accept her as one of their own?

Or will her mistakes push her people into yet another war?

This enthralling story from the Lochlann Realm takes place after The Lochlann Treaty, but can be devoured and enjoyed all on its own.

Absolutely Amazing!!

Guuuyyyssss! I have so many feelings! This was 👏 just 👏 fantastic 👏 It's a clean YA fantasy read.
Rowan is a sassy little thing, who gets herself into a lot of trouble. 😂
Theo is so swoon-worthy *sigh* Nothing sexier than a tough yet romantic man who fights for his woman! 💪
Their chemistry is 🤌🏼 *chefs kiss*
SUCH a great story. Laugh out loud moments. Happy tears. Sad tears. Some action. An enemy kingdom. Mind blowing twists. Loads of fun! And ... a cliffhanger in true ElBin fashion. 😆 These Ladies are fantastic story tellers. Very much looking forward to the next installment.
If you enjoyed The Lochlann Treaty you'll absolutely love this, and vice versa.

The narrator is fantastic!! Does incredible accents and I just love her so much!!

📚 Some Quotes
“I thought we could do something fun, but it would appear you are already enjoying yourself too much.”
“Fun? I wasn’t aware that Socairans knew the meaning of the word,” I responded dryly.
“It might not be as enjoyable as annoying me or smuggling vodka, but then again, what is?”
.
Still, I loved my parents together, but I didn’t want the kind of love you went to war for. I didn’t want the kind of love that could break you.
.
"You are like no woman I have ever met."

Review by The Disney Bookworm

I loved Olivia's performance. At first I didn't think Rowan would be so well spoken, but then, she is a princess after all!

After my initial hesitation I now can't imagine Rowan with any other voice, Olivia perfectly captured her sarcasm and dry humour. I laughed out loud several times.

It's also worth noting that Olivia is so good at accents, she really brings Theo and Evander to life.

I have read the whole series in print but can't wait to listen to them all too. Thank you to Elle and Robin for a free copy of this audiobook 💜
