Iris is happy: decent job, good friends, her own flat. Everything but her own family. She and her husband Tom were trying for a baby when he left her for his life coach, Maddy, four years ago.
One day Iris' best friend Fay sends her an Instagram video of Maddy, now a successful family influencer with a huge following, posting wholesome videos with her husband Lee and their three-year-old twins. Tom is nowhere in sight.

Very enjoyable.
Great story, kept me hooked so I finished the book quite quickly. Others have mentioned the difference in speed of narration and I found this, too; one was "normal" speed and the other was significantly slower which I perceive as a production issue as were a couple of mispronunciations . However this didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Not her best
I have loved all of Jane’s previous books but this one didn’t grip me like the others. The story didn’t take off. I wasn’t gripped by it.
I found the narration (as mentioned in other reviews) quite annoying. The voice of Iris was read very quickly and Maddie was a bit too sickly sweet
Would I recommend…. Probably not. Sorry.

Interesting story but the narration!
I agree with other listeners that Iris’s narration was far too fast and felt
like the narrator was in a rush to finish. It was very detracting to the book and I really nearly gave up after about 3 chapters. I did préserve. Story was interesting and good ideas.

Enjoyable and fun; classic Fallon
Really enjoyed the story, frothy but poignant at times and the characters and plot are very well written.
The narration was a little uneven but the app meant I could easily slow Iris down and speed up Maddy!

Totally believable plot
I really enjoyed this well written book. Like others I found I had to change listening speed but it didn’t detract from the great storyline .

Easy listening
As expected, this book is easy listening, a bit laboured in the middle, a little twist at the end. Ok overall. Not something I'd listen to again, but it did the trick on this hot summer's day off.
