Summary

The adventures continue for Laura Ingalls and her family as they leave their little house in the Big Woods of Wisconsin and set out for Kansas. They travel for many days in their covered wagon until they find the best spot to build their little house on the prairie. Soon they are planting and plowing, hunting wild ducks and turkeys, and gathering grass for their cows. Sometimes pioneer life is hard, but Laura and her folks are always busy and happy in their new little house.

Excellent story

Our children have enjoyed all of these stories, and ask lots of questions about why people lived the way they did. Also our children loved the narrator, especially having the same person reading all the stories.

Wonderful

A book from my childhood but a complete delight to listen to again as an adult. Classic writing and beautifully narrated.

Mediocre reading of a classic book

I bought all of this series to listen to late at night. I'm not going to go into my feelings about the stories, other than to say that I wouldn't share them in audio format with a child nowadays. I listened to another book in the series first and found the narrator almost unbearable. She was much better with this book- she didn't shout as much this time. I don't like her voice much, though, and wish there was another option.

A Different World

Perfect narrator for a story that gives us a child's insight into the injustice suffered by the First Nations and the struggle of the ordinary settlers.
