Summary

Kane & Abel for a new generation!!

They had only one thing in common - William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless Polish immigrant. Two men born on the same day on opposite sides of the world, their paths were destined to cross in the ruthless struggle to build a fortune.

The marvellous story, spanning 60 years, of two powerful men linked by an all-consuming hatred, brought together by fate to save - and finally destroy - each other.

Kane and Abel: The 30th Anniversary Edition

This book I have been wanting to listen to for years, as I remember years ago it was televised and I missed the very last episode. I have finally finished it and it has been one of the best books for me. The narrator makes all the difference to a ''good'' listen and in some cases is more important than the story its self, well when you have to listen to the same voice for many hours, its got to be brilliant, and Kane & Abel was fabulous. Jason Culp, well his voice is a dream. Full marks to all!

I would recommend this listen to young and old as its such a gripping story, so much so I found it hard to put down. I loved it and thanks to Jeffrey Archer for writing such a brilliant book.

Holy Cow Udders

I can barely read a book but this had me hooked and has changed my perspective on literature.... one problem, it's left a void in my being that I fear shall never heal.....10/10 would read again. p.s. even if the void gets bigger

Kane & Abel - A brilliant epic book, well read

I remember the TV series back in the eighties and my sympathies then leaned more towards Abel but whilst listening to this brilliant book I became engrossed in the story & my sympathies switched to Kane. I got a little frustrated with what seemed like Abels vendetta against Kane albeit misinformed & my heart was sad when Kane lost the chairmanship of his beloved bank partly due to the misunderstandings & stubbornness of both men. I admit that I did shed a tear when the story revealed that Kane had died & missed his longed for reunion with his son, and when Abel finally discovered who his benefactor was. This is a very good story and well read by Jason Culp. You won't want to stop listening once you've started.

Narrator - pronunciation is key!

The narrator cannot pronounce
British cities - Edinburgh, Beaconsfield ...
English Car Makes - Daimler ...
Many others mistakes too, please please please correct these!
Otherwise I thought it was fabulous. Read it many years ago as a teen and then saw the tv series. 👏🏻

Riveting Saga

Great story covering a whole generation. Geoffrey Archer is the master storyteller. Some of the obviously 'English' bits inserted for the USA market were irritating and didn't add to the tale. Similarly the obviously 'American' bits that were frankly condescending to my English ear and oh so unnecessary.
