Summary
A hilarious memoir of home truths and whatever the opposite of "that girl energy" is, from one half of the hit podcast Toni & Ryan.
Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's "I'm five minutes away" or "It must have gone to my spam folder", most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big "life" stuff too?
When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realized that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything from gastro, fame and Twilight to funerals, the Dalai Lama and Brazilian waxes.
In this hilarious warm hug of a book, Toni exposes the lies she has told herself about who she is and what she is capable of, inviting us on a riotous romp that will make you laugh, cringe, cry and utterly rethink the truth behind the stories we tell ourselves.

Emotional, raw, funny and very personable.
I know of Toni from the Toni & Ryan podcast, so of course I bought her book.
It did not disappoint at all. The rawness of listening to Toni talk about her mum's passing was so emotional. I cried, as I related to losing my father, who was my best friend.
She talks about her rise in celebrity, but is grounded and humble and shares vulnerable life moments most of us have probably experienced, minus the "car" incident lol.

Real. Raw. Relatable. Ridiculously funny.
As a huge fan of the Toni and Ryan podcast, and hearing about the life of Dr Author Muscles Toni Felicia Louise Lodge I couldn’t wait to read … or listen to this. It was everything and more. As someone who has faced similar life challenges and confronted similar battles it is so refreshing to hear Toni’s amazing comedic and often beautiful take on how she’s tackled life this far. The book is really true to everything we know about Toni and was such a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for sharing some more of your life with us Toni! And to anyone wondering whether they should buy it, do it! Right now!

The book I never knew I needed to listen to today.
Reading a book is always so hit or miss for me, but listening to Toni tell her own story kept me engaged, made me laugh, cry and take stock of my own achievements and wellbeing challenges. Not many books in life have had this effect, so would highly recommend.

beautifully raw honesty, and laught out load
Listening to Toni read her life story has been both beautiful with raw honesty emotion and times of laught out load moments. Times were I've replied "me too Toni, me too".
Toni's heart felt raw emotion and honesty is what makes this a great listen/read.
