Summary
Quinn Alexander has committed an unthinkable crime.
To avoid spending her life in prison, Quinn makes a run for it. She leaves behind her home, her job, and her family. She grabs her passport and heads for the northern border before the police can discover what she's done.
But when an unexpected snowstorm forces her off the road, Quinn must take refuge at the broken-down, isolated Baxter Motel. The handsome and kindly owner, Nick Baxter, is only too happy to offer her a cheap room for the night.
Unfortunately, the Baxter Motel isn't the quiet safe haven it seemed to be. The motel has a dark and disturbing past. And in the dilapidated house across the way, the silhouette of Nick's ailing wife is always at the window. Always watching.
In the morning, Quinn must leave the motel. She'll pack up her belongings and get back on the road to freedom.
But first, she must survive the night.

Gripping
I wasn’t to sure when I first started listening but then became hooked. Just a shame it was quite a short book.
Would recommend all the same.

Do Not Disturb
I’m am so enjoying listening to Freida McFadens books. The story lines are complex, I love the way the author weaves the characters together and the way the plots unfold. The narration is superb .
I’m hooked

Good but not gripping
This is the second Freida Mcfadden book I've read and to be honest it was a disappointment. The first book I read (The Housemaid) was exceptional but I thought this one was a little predictable and quite monotonous. I found myself continuing with it out of the sake of finishing it rather than because I was gripped. The Psycho references a little lazy and obvious but it was still worth reading if you just want something to kill some time.

Excellent
I upgraded this book from a Kindle 99p book to Audible as I had listened to The Housemaid & The Housemaid’s secret and recognised the author. If I hadn’t listened to the other two books I would have given straight 5’s but they spoiled it for me by being so good. Still a great listen preferably read before others by her.

Poor poor overall plot(s)
After having thoroughly enjoyed The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden, I dove straight into this one.
But what a heap of fluffy girly sweet rosy unicorn fantasy, tied into pretty bows with sugar and happy ever afters on top.
The hits just kept on coming, and not in a good way.
The sickly sweet stomach churning epilogue I had to get through on double speed to endure it.
I have definitely not written off Frida McFadden, I am looking forward to delving into The Housemaids Secrets.
Hoping this girly "everything is pretty" "thriller book" will never happen to me again.
And doing my best to not label female writers for this one massive blunder.
This, everything, of course is only one persons opinion.
Happy reading
