ADHD Knowlege

As a mom of 3 boys all with varying degrees of ADHD this book really hits home. Rose Lyons has written a great book and Amanda Jo does a wonderful job narrating it.

As a parent of ADHD children i have made it a point to devour as much information as i can regarding it. This book does a wonderful job filling in some of the information gaps regarding emotional behaviour. I love the authors idea of being a safe space for my boys and how i can help their teachers in school understand their individual needs.

Working on their emotions using the PEACE method that is outlined in this book is worth the cost of the book alone. There is so much more information in the book but trust me, just that section is worth every penny.

This is a great book we highly recommend

Informative and Insightful

Rose did a beautiful job of writing in an easy-to-understand audiobook for parents who are struggling with their child's ADHD diagnosis. One of the scariest things as a parent is accepting and understanding a new or foreign diagnosis but the author did a beautiful job of explaining what ADHD is and, instead of being triggered by it how to turn that frustration around to better help your child.

I particularly loved the section about how to successfully help your child in school or activities and advocate for them to succeed in those roles.

Very Informative and much Needed!

Defusing Explosive Behavior in Children with ADHD is an invaluable resource for parents who are struggling to manage their child's behavior. The audiobook is well-structured, providing listeners with a comprehensive understanding of ADHD and offering practical solutions for managing explosive behavior.

The audiobook is narrated in a clear and engaging manner, making it easy for listeners to follow along and understand the concepts being presented. The author does an excellent job of breaking down complex concepts and explaining them in simple terms, making it accessible to all listeners.

One of the great things about this audiobook is the emphasis on positive influence. The author emphasizes the importance of empowering children to become the best version of themselves, rather than focusing solely on managing their behavior. This approach is refreshing and provides parents with a new perspective on parenting children with ADHD.

The P.E.A.C.E method is an especially useful tool for parents looking to help their child regulate their emotions. The author provides practical strategies for implementing this method, making it easy for parents to apply these techniques in their everyday lives.

The audiobook also covers the role of parents when parenting a child with ADHD, providing guidance on how to create structure and establish clear boundaries. The author also discusses the importance of advocating for your child with ADHD, which is particularly important given the many challenges that families face when dealing with this condition.

Overall, Defusing Explosive Behavior in Children with ADHD is an excellent resource for parents looking to manage their child's behavior and create a peaceful home environment. Very Educational

This book will help you better understand your child’s emotional struggles and how to use their emotions to create a closer relationship. You’ll find lots of guidance on how to prevent explosive outbursts and manage day-to-day behaviors. One of the hardest parts of parenting has been having one child that seems to get all the attention because I’m constantly diffusing tantrums and emotions. The other child feels left out. This book also provides guidance on creating family bonds and managing a close relationship with my kids.

A most helpful tool for overwhelmed parents

As a teacher who navigates the ups and downs of working with little people who must learn to manage ADHD, I know all-too-well how overwhelming it can become for adults, and how difficult it can be to stay calm and clear-headed around these well-meaning kids. The tools proposed in this lovely listen are practical and evidence-based. I would highly recommend adding this to your library if you are a parent or carer of a little person who is neurodivergent.

Great tool for anyone with adhd children

I liked the authors take on how to diffuse a child who’s gone into melt down mode. I also enjoyed the suggestions for how to help them regulate their moods and maybe keep them out of melt down instead of having to react afterwards. It makes so much sense the way the author explained how to work with your child and help them instead of being critical and angry. The author also says to realize you’re only human and not going to do everything perfect. Having this book to help you understand your child and help them manage their own feelings is a great start.
