I just couldn’t get into it
I couldn’t get into this audio book. I’m not sure if it was the actual writing which is sort of list like or the narrator with his Australian slant on narration. It sounded like he was almost narrating it for children at times. I much preferred Celtic Mythology by Peter Freeman or Myths of the British Isles by Geoffrey Ashe, the latter being excellent as it included historical subjects as well as stories as did Peters book

Lovely book expanding on mythologies and history across all celtic realms. Very interesting and enjoyable while not being too dense. Great introduction to anything Celtic myths!

Ok collection.
An okay book. It takes an outsider or 3rd person perspective which makes each chapter feeling like an introduction or overview.

Disappointe.
Narrator was poorly chosen, his pronouncing of Welsh names was painfully done and inaccurate Thus, it cast doubt upon the accuracy of his pronouncing of Irish, Scottish or any Celtic name.
The sections described at the start of the book were not given anything other than un-referenced and un-dscribed chapter numbers.
The overall reading failed to follow any particular path, making it unclear if the tales followed chronologically or not and didn't give sufficient background information to enable the reader to put each narrative into its proper context.
Overall, very disappointing.

stop getting English people to narrate our history
the man reading this audiobook sounds like he has never seen a book before, let alone seen the words in languages which are not his own. I got as far as the first chapter before his waffling and offensive impressions of Irish words made me switch off. the content sounds great, so it's a real shame that this English guy was hired to talk about a history he has no connection to. do better.

The names!
Absolutely no research was done regarding how to actually pronounce these names. Not one name was pronounced correctly. I had no idea who a story was about until I realised that he was butchering the names.

Audio very disappointing
The narrator is in capable of pronouncing the Celtic names and places properly and as a student using this as a research reference it makes it impossible - I would highly suggest this narrator be changed. It also feels highly offensive that they’ve used an English speaker as opposed to the many Celtic cultures in the UK who would grown up speaking Gaelic

Not detailed/analytical + doesn't tell the story.
I bought this book on my way to Brittany, in the hope that through it I would be able to understand Brittany's myth-history and the stories that underpin this as well as seeking to do the same with Irish, Welsh, and Scottish cultures (places I have an interest in and visit regularly). I felt that none of this was achieved. The book resorts to listing myths, making broad historical generalisations, and fundamentally fails to even tell the story of these myths in an effective way. If a book on myths can't communicate their story in effective prose then I don't think it's worth reading.
