Summary
The crew of the SS Jimmy Carter is stranded on the tropical shoreline of Brazil, but Mike Talbot and his squad are not enjoying the beach. The Brazilian government might have failed in the end times, but the jungle is rife with violently patriotic guerrillas—and not the cool banana-eating type.
Humans can be reasonable, more or less...but zombies? Not so much. The undead are alive and well in South America, and they are raging.
Zombies are mutating, transforming at an untenable rate. They are bigger, stronger, and more terrifying than ever, and best of all, the newest adaptations are nearly impossible to kill.
Losses are piling up, burdening Mike and causing him nightmares—and daymares. His spirituality is tested by apparitions and visitations, and the captain is finally at his breaking point. With barely enough people left to make the trek, it seems his goal to head home to Colorado may end up just a foolish dream after all.

listened to it twice since buying, Jo doubt I'll listen a 3rd time ready for when the next book comes out. I'm so invested in this journey, great stuff, and you are forgiven for the kilometres/miles 'fiasco', it didn't ruin anything for me, the story easily carries those odd mishaps 👍🇬🇧

Always a pleasure
I have been listening to Sean talk as Mike so long now, I sometimes somehow think in his voice.. books are always brilliant. biggest problem is I'm running out of them.

Not as gripping but still a good listen
Great narration as always. Thought the story was a wee bit rushed in some parts and felt sometimes disjointed. Probably my least favourite from the series. Still an amazing listen though.

Love this story
Humour and gore as well as all the good stuff a book bring to your imagination. Even if this is not in your genre give it a go.

The pinnacle of Zombie Apocalypse series.
Mark Tufo is a magician with his storytelling, it’s raw, gritty and emotional. You build relationships with characters and feel triumphs and losses physically if you mesh with his words, combined with Sean Runnettes understanding of both characters and author make this series one of my all time favourites
