I secretly wished she loved Gandel
Through the entirety of the story I had a feeling that Mer will end up with Avery but I hoped beyond hope she fell in love with the beautiful winged man. The story was captivating, kept me at the edge of my sit with how energetic and full of life the author describes every scene. I'm hoping for more lore about the fae and what happen with their homeland. I was especially impressed on what an awesome father Mer has and secretly wishing that's how mine was.. At times I was so impressed with the description of the forests and the farms that I could swear I was apart of the story that took place in the real world, made me feel a part of the whole story.

Intriguing Book
A book full of brilliant characters, intrigue, knights ... damsels in need of saving, danger and action. The Fey world was vivid in its description, the narrator did a fantastic job with clearly defined voices for the characters, the only downside was the amount of whispering which became a little tiresome.

Pulls you in this story
This fantasy story is simplistic which helps you visualise everything in your head.
The Characters are all stonger than they thought and the trials of life only make them stronger to over come whats in front of them.
a younge girls life (merisande) is totally changed from start to finish all because of a misunderstanding to a note sent to her father.
i cant wait to read the next installment.

story within a story
The book felt like a slow burner at first, but damn did it escalate! lots of adventure and action - I especially liked a side story of a white doe that was weaved into the main storyline. Lovely book - highly recommend!
